Well, my Royals picked up Jose Guillen, who had pretty good numbers last year (.290, 23 HR, 99 RBI), and they are looking at making a deal with Andruw Jones, who's a perennial all-star (despite his not so good numbers last year...). Things might be interesting for the Blue Crew next year. I might actually go to more games. Tongue

Guillen should be a good pickup, bummer (for you, but not for me) and Jones went to the Dodgers.  I wouldn't be surprised to see the Royals finish 3rd in the division in '08, ahead of the White Sux.

Hey, hey, hey, don't go dissing the White Sox. I have to root for them, because my family is from Sox territory (though I certainly won't pick them over the Tigers).

I'll give the Sux some credit in that their GM made perhaps one of the best quotes I've seen recently, when he found out about the Tigers making 'The Trade.'

Said Kenny Williams, General Manager (aka the guy who makes all decisions on what players play for the team) of the White Sux, "Uh, oh."

I think it takes a special hybrid mixture of optimism, blind faith, and stupidity to have hope this year as an Astros fan. Luckily, I have all three of those qualities in droves. Let me be the first on record saying, "Astros 2008: World Series Champs!"

Sure, that seems about as likely as me ever finding a girlfriend, but that happened this year, too. Maybe this is the year all the stars align to bring about the Triumverate of Unlikelyhoods.

Drew Finds Serious Girlfriend = Check

Houston Rockets Advance Past First Round of Play-Offs = Crossing Fingers

Houston Astros Win First World Series Ever = Uhhh... Let's see how optimistic I am come July and August.

Really didn't expect this kind of start to the season for the Tigers...  Undecided

I was waiting for your comment...

Well, my Reds are doing so-so. Hopefully Dusty Baker will work some of his magic this season on the young guys. Also, the Royals are the team to beat!!!

Give that time, it'll change.  I'm pretty surprised with the 5-1 start Baltimore has.

This week's MLB Power Rankings according to ESPN.com

So, am I wrong here, or are three of the top four spots taken by N.L. teams? What the designated hitter is going on? I'm in Thailand, so I can't keep up much, but the N.L. Central is freaking tearing it up! Go Stros/Berkman!

Yeah, Berkman's on a tear so far this year. The NL Central's the best division in baseball so far, which should be fun to watch.

The Chort, I have to hand it to you, The Astros are suprising a lot of people this year!

I'm really hoping the Tigers can pull what the Yankees did last year.  Play crummy for the first half of the season, then go on a major tear the second half.  If they could play only the Mariners and the Rangers, that just might be possible.

Well, at least the Tigers are hanging in there, despite the injuries. An 0-7 start didn't really help, either.

I really do hope the Rays go all the way this year. They have a good solid team, a new image, and I think it is finally their year to break the .500 mark.

If the Rays make the playoffs, that means either the Red Sox or the Yankees miss them.  That would make me a happy camper.
