PC's don't do anything that the user hasn't told it to do. If it's running slow it's because you've bogged it down with background apps, or it has become outdated.
As for the Dell issue, that makes me laugh. The only difference between a Dell and a PC you built yourself is that the Dell comes with some pre-loaded software. They buy the parts from the same people we do. It's not like they make the parts, the just put them all together.
And Macs do things the user hasn't told it to? Not from what I've heard. I can have 0% of my computer's processing power running, and it still takes forever to do things. That means not a single thing is running, and it still takes forever, and it's only a year and a half old. You can't deny the issues with Vista, and the fact that huge amounts of people that have tried Vista go back to XP. And I've had 3 friends, not to mention my old roommate, have issues with Dell's, so I know for a fact that Dell doesn't make as good quality products anymore.

*Sigh* I love when people argue about things when they don't have any clue about what they're talking about. DELL IS NOT THE PROBLEM. The problem is the user. Let me put it in this perspective: You're building a computer yourself. You get your processor from Intel, your motherboard from ASUS, your video card from Nvidia, your RAM from Corsair, and your hard drive from Western Digital. Well guess what. DELL BUYS THEIR PARTS FROM THEM TOO *GASP*! The only difference is that instead of you putting all the parts together, Dell does. So what you're telling me is that Dell is causing your computer to crash by magically pressing a button? Get real. As for the Vista comment, it's because people are idiots. I'm sorry, but that's the truth. I have been running Vista for months now and have had LESS crashes and errors than when I had XP. Sure, in the beginning there were a few problems with driver support, but that has been fixed now. Anybody who switches back to XP clearly has no idea how to use a computer, and thus, should get a Mac, because they are clearly paying for an overpriced toy.

I've had THREE friends have issues with Dell's. Hardware issues. Things they couldn't possibly have prevented. You're telling me that's not Dell's fault? Yeah, right.
You cannot expect everyone in the world to be a computer genius, Jack. I don't care if you are, but not everyone is, hence why Vista is not that good and why XP is not only better but more stable as well, because there aren't issues that require a good knowledge of computers to fix, or else a good amount of money to have someone fix for you.
On a different note, Jack, I'm getting sick of your tone and I think it is uncalled for. It is obvious you have a good knowledge of computers. Fine. It is obvious you prefer PC's to Macs. Fine, although from what I've seen, people with the most computer knowledge prefer Macs and/or Linux to PC's. But you are blatantly insulting me and anyone else who is tired of having issues with PC's and think Macs will work better, and I won't tolerate it anymore. Both your comments of "I love it when people argue about things that they don't have a clue about" and your comment of "Anyone who switches back to XP clearly has no idea of how to use a computer" are, in my opinion, unwarranted, unfounded, and uncalled for. I did not attack you, yet you attack me.

Fine, I will not bring up the topic of XP/Vista/Mac anymore because that comes down to personal opinion and knowledge, however I still will defend Dell. The point you aren't getting is that Dell doesn't make the parts. If a hard drive fails, it's not Dell's fault, it's Western Digital's, Seagate's, or whoever they bought the hard drive from. Dell does not build the parts, they just assemble them. Say you buy a Dell and also build the same exact model from parts you bought yourself, then run them side by side for the same amount of time, there is an equal chance that both of them will fail. It's common fact. They only reason Dell gets such a bad rep is because they've sold the most computers out of pretty much any maker. So, say the chance that a computer part will fail in the first year is 5%. Also say that Dell has sold 1,000,000 computers with that part and HP has sold 250,000 with that part. That means 50,000 people had problems with the Dell and only 12,500 had problems with the HP. Quite a difference, but certainly not Dell's fault. Also, I'd like to apologize for my comments. When it comes to arguments like these, I do get very opinionated and do get belligerent. That's just who I am and I'm sorry if I offended you.
