Ok Guys, I'm in need of a biggie favour concerning video file types. I have a Bio project that I worked on this weekend that is a video presentation. Since our teacher gave us zero resources (Like, something to make the video with) and we had no video camera to speak of, we decided to film the whole thing using my friend's digital camera. That means that we have about 5+ mintues of video seperated into about 40 ~10 sec clips, which have been all saved as .Mov files The problem is, all movie making programs that are on all five of our computers don't work, on both Macs and PCs. Even iMovie. So, I need to know if someone knows a program that can either A) Have the ability to connect those 40 clips together into one coherent video and burn into onto a presentable DVD or B) have the ability convert .mov into a more compatible video type, preferablly something like .mpeg or .avi. I would really appreciate if you guys could answer it ASAP. It was due today and I could only get an extension until Wednesday. Which leaves me tonight and tommorow night to work on this with already a hectic last week of School before Christmas. And I need help cause... Or Else I get a freaking zero on this project we worked so hard on!

Well, I know of one thing, perhaps... No Youtube Pooper can do without this handy tool. Media Converter. It can do quite a lot. If that doesn't work, you might be able to upload the videos to youtube one by one... THEN use media converter. Or just look up ".mov video converter" on google.

video quality isn't very good, but I think it'll do!!!!
Though the conversion process is going to be lengthy, considering one file took 5 minutes and I have 40 to do. So, if someone has any suggestions for a movie program that uses movs, that would be best.
But seriously, this is great. +1 to you for as long as I can remember to do so.
As for other .mov converters, I have tried at least a dozen, but they all end up having only limited support for the format, not working, or being trials and only converting half of the video.

iMovie should of worked, but something is probably weird about the iMovie format.
But, that suggestion you already have is about the best you can get.

Ok well, I tried using the converter and something when AWAL with my DVD creation program (Sonic MyDVD, for those wondering). It appears that no matter what file type I use, the thing refuses to work. Yet, when I use a video that has nothing to do with this project, I end up with it working perfectly. Figures.
This leads me to believe that either my dvd creation program sucks or that the converter site is doing something that is upsetting it.
This is my last ditch effort. I NEED either a new dvd movie creation program or another converter.

You're using Sonic MyDVD???? (Adam Savage) Well there's your problem! That's such a terrible dvd burner it's not even funny. I don't see why it might be funny, maybe that saying works with clowns or something, but no, this situation isn't funny in the slightest. Sonic accepts veeery specific filetypes, lowers the quality of the videos, and separates the audio from the video in the burning process, which results in you having out-of-sync audio if you try to fast forward. Get a new burner, then tell me so I can get it.

No, they aren't corrupt, I checked that out. Yes, they play fine outside of a DVD (including Winamp, VLC, and Quicktime). Yes Sonic MyDVD is a piece of crap, but that's what I have. I've tried three more freeware burners, only to be heavily disappointed by all of them (one actually burned, but cut off the beginning two seconds and last two seconds, which is devastating on a 7 second clip). I'm resorting right now to getting my friend's laptop, and just running them in succession using VLC. I'm so tired of this crap that I just want to get it over and done with.
Thanks for the help guys. I'm hoping everything can work out just fine, but am not getting my hopes up.
EDIT: Bio Project over. Thanks for the help guys. Your suggestions didn't work out in the end, but were much appreciated.
