Haven't you been watching the Report? The Dems in South Carolina didn't nominate him.

One of my friends didn't believe that Chuck Norris was backing up Huckabee when I told him. I sent him this link and a couple more, as well as the ad on youtube as proof. Hope that's enough to convince him.

So I made a bet with my friend today that it's going to be a McCain v. Clinton race, and Clinton will win.
I don't like it, but my gut doesn't lie.
Often.
Sometimes.
Ok, it lies a lot, but it's only five bucks.

An interesting scenario I read an article about suggested that the Republican ticket could be strongest with McCain as Presidential Candidate with Huckabee as V.P.
Huckabee is well liked among the G.O.P., even if he didn't have the money or the popularity to secure the Presidential nomination. Especially with McCain's age, 71 years old is what I read, a young, popular Republican as possible successor would greatly benefit their chances of toppling the Democrats perceived strangle-hold on the Presidency for the next four years. They would make a formidable duo against Hilary, should she get the Democratic nomination.
On the other side of the political map, there's the fight between Clinton and Obama. Obama made a good point recently that the contrast between him as the candidate of change, th new wave of politics, would make for an excellent argument in his favor over the old McCain, whose time in office could be billed as another of the same old presidencies we've been unhappy with for years.
Clinton still has many advantages, including much party loyalty, and an especially important grip on the Hispanic voters, who will be a major part of Super Tuesday, in California and elsewhere.
Personally, I think it's a Paper-Rock-Scissors game with slight variation. I'll illustrate my thoughts, but this is all just speculation on my part.
I think McCain can only win against Hilary. I know there are many who want her in office, but there is also a sizable group of people whose mission come election day will be to vote for whoever has the best chance of defeating Clinton, no matter who it is.
I think that Obama can win over McCain, for reasons I mentioned earlier. His campaign has been gaining more and more steam over the last few months. He looks stronger, more poised, and more electable each day. The problem for him is whether or not he can gain enough momentum fast enough to overtake Hilary.
Hilary has a chance to beat out Obama, because she started with a huge lead. Though Obama has surged and won votes away from her, she still has a good chance because time is running out. Obama may be gaining on her, but if he doesn't gain fast enough she could use her hold on key states to retain the nomination that seemed so certain a year ago. But if the race gets tight going into the stretch, she could end up missing out as Obama continues to win over voters and delegates.
Should Hilary be nominated, she will most likely face McCain. I feel like she has a good chance of winning, based on the country's overwhelming preference for change after the current administration. If she can convince some that McCain might end up another Bush-like President, I think she'll be moving back into the big, white house on Pennsylvania Avenue. But her run against McCain seems to be much less in the bag than an Obama-McCain election. The question is, will the Democrats see it that way.
As long as I'm sharing personal opinions, I might as well mention who I'm currently planning to vote for. Despite being born and raised in uber-conservative Texas, (College Station, even! The most conservative place I've ever known!) I can't help but root for Barack Obama. He seems like the best candidate to restore America's standing among the other nations. He seems like someone who will fight for change, and not just muddle through Washington Politics. I believe he's a strong leader, a man of good character, and someone our nation can get behind. Come November, I hope to be given the chance to vote for him.

Very well said. I think you've hit dead on with your hypothesis - Clinton seems likely to beat Obama (at this point), but Clinton is the only one who can lose the election to a Republican. Perhaps (hopefully) the Democratic party will realize this and shift their confidence over to Obama. Though, personally, I don't mind McCain. He's the only Republican I would not be totally horrified to see get the office, I think.
Still, come Super Tuesday, I'll be going out and doing my part to try to help Obama surpass Hillary!

McCain beats Hillary, but loses to Obama. Romney loses to Hillary, but beats Obama. That's how I'd see it unfolding.
If Hillary were to get the nomination for the Democrats, I think there are many people who would normally vote Democrat, who wouldn't, just because they don't want to see Hillary win.

I dunno whether to root for Hillary or Obama. I was going to root for Obama a while a go, but he focuses quite a lot on his charisma. Well, I certainly hope this fake Massachusan*, über-flip-flopper, doesn't become our prez right after being a crap governor of MA for a century. *He's actually from Michigan, dag-nammit. And he's campaign song is "Love Than Dirty Water!" Digg'd!!
