BHZ Forum Awards - Which Categories Should Be Left Out?
« on: February 27, 2008, 02:58:14 am »

Alright, make your opinions known via this poll how you feel about the new BHZ Forum Awards. If you want the all to stay, vote accordingly. If you have several that you'd like to see get the ax, vote for multiple categories. It doesn't matter if you weren't around for the last one, feel free to sound off in the poll.

If you have a good reason why you'd rather not see one come back, or why you think one should stay, let it be known in this thread. Bear in mind that while some of these might end up out of the Awards, we're actively looking for some ideas for new categories, so don't worry too much about us being short on awards to present.

The voting will last seven days. Get to it!

Okay, so it seems the general consensus is that a few of these should certainly be taken off the rotation for now. The few with the most votes are Techie, Fastest Finger, Smiley, and DJ. If there's anyone who has a good reason to keep one, or a way to modify one so that it's better and more appealing, post here. If not, they'll be stricken from the list, leaving us with eight of the original awards, including the update of Silence is Golden to make it lean more towards a person who says a lot in a a few, very meaningful words.

These eight core awards would be coupled with the four or five new awards outlined in the Suggestions section thread. That would leave us at 12 or 13 awards, which seems like just the right amount. Any more comments, questions, or suggestions are welcome.

Techie should definitely stay I think, because there is a good amount of people here that know about technology.

We could just make it one of those awards given out before the actual awards. Sorta like how the creative Emmys are given out before the actual Emmy awards ceremony.

Techie still has quite a few votes against it, and last time there was only one nominee. How about this... We can leave it for now and see how many people get nominated. If we get five nominees, we'll keep it around, but if it can't generate enough interest we'll drop it. How's that sound?

That works.

Unless we all would nominate JackbNimble, in which case we could just give it to him.
