I was hoping there would be, but due to the nature of how Brawl's online is set up, and not to mention that some of us (me) aren't even able to go online, I don't think it'll happen.

My roommate and I might be down for a tourney depending on when it is (and depending on rules). We just unlocked a trophy for a hundred hours of play time if that tells you how much we play. xD

A tourney is everything I would want to be a part of, the only problem is I can't really do a serious match, case and point my best character is jigglypuff.

Jigglypuff can be a good character to use, but it just takes some work, but that can be argued for almost all characters. I'm going to assume by a "serious match" you mean the rules you'll most likely face in a tournament match: Stock, No items, 1 vs 1, fair stages, blah, blah, blah. All of that with highly skilled opponents. And there is a reason for that. This make up creates the most equal playing field between the two opponents. Unfortunately, there are not many tournaments out there for the "casual" or "new" players, for reasons stated above.

I wouldn't mind playing some 2v2s, as long as we had team attack on. I don't think we'd have enough players for that though.

Actually I am quite good with jigglypuff, not full wop status but it's almost there, it's just that I joke around while playing, like insisting on using only rest for an entire game. And also personally when I play online with my friends almost all the items are on, especially the really cheap ones, using 3 or 4 stock, and random stage.

Actually, according to my friend who is the kind of guy who casually tosses out phrases like "wavedash" or "Upper-mid tier," items are being considered for Brawl Tournaments; apparently they are trying to work out which items should be off via testing with CPU players with and without various item sets.

Yes, that is true, from what I have heard. Initially, Melee was the same way, but they deemed that the randomness, things like Capsules and boxes flying at you and exploding and what have you, deemed items not as part of being skilled at the game, but lucky. That is different in Brawl, but the majority of tournaments are still no items. Not as big of majority as in Melee (or even N64), but still a majority. And you have to remember, the rules are fully up to the ones hosting the tournament. There are no official rules, just rules that have become commonplace amongst players. There were still tournies in Melee that had certain items allowed, Matches with more than two players and no teams, and/or allowed certain stages not typically played upon. Although its safe to assume there have never been any Bonus or Coin tournaments....
