In other (-1) related news, I received my first ever in recent days. In retrospect, I would like to know why it happened. Not in a mean way, but it makes me wonder... My guess is that it has to do with something I posted in the Politics thread or because our Awards didn't get the response we'd hoped for.
Although it might be due to my constant lack of correct spelling, capitalization, and poor overall grammar...

I give the occasional -1, mostly because someone says something that's completely absurd. When I got minus'd at first, I didn't know why. Turns out I bumped some really old posts, and that I was a nub. I still find my self making idiotic comments, so I agree with people when the minus me sometimes. It's kind of sad really, that I almost expect -1 with some of the stupid posts I make.

I find myself giving -1's lately to people that are just plain annoying. Or if someone says something that I don't care for that I've heard a thousand times. They can disagree with me, but when I've heard them say it a hundred times, it does get a wee bit annoying and sad.

I wouldn't be surprised if it was the newly banned PokeHomsar who gave it to you. As for your grammar/spelling/etc, I've never noticed any glaring issues. |

Man, there needs to be some sort of sarcasm effect for text, because I for sure didn't get my sarcasm across on that post. I'm the son of an Editor and a Writer, so I can't help but type in proper English.
In (-) related news, I considered using the option recently, but I realized that it doesn't really make much of a difference. I highly doubt people are checking for an additional (-), then thinking back on what they've posted lately in an effort to change their behavior that warranted the (-). I'll give out a (+) every once in a blue moon for a great post or something really helpful, but I guess that's my only real use for the karma system.

There was, however, one instance of a member whom I disliked so much I would actually log on every day and give a - even if that member had not posted anything. I will refrain from saying whom it was, though. Aheh.
I see how it is!  I like giving out +s to people with amusing or intelligent posts. I only have ever given one negative karma; to pokehomsar, just the other day. I figured he'd get banned soon, but it's more of a symbolic thing. Oh, but I also give -1s to depressio every time he mentions FFXII.*
*We have an inside joke about this because it actually happens... we just don't know who does it... |

I cannot recall a single time I have given you a negative karma.
