Topic: If we found out how to divide by zero... (Read 486 times)

what other advancements would we have made by then?
I mean, think about it, 0 is a number, and division is an operation, and they are the only operation/number pair that doesn't go together. Now, I'm sure that if all the world's greatest mathematicians and scientists got together they could devise a pattern and use that to decide what x/0 equaled. However, as of now, not even machines can do it. For as much information as we'd need to be able to divide by zero, it'd take years and years of technological advancements. Name some.
One of the ones that isn't a technological advancement but instead is an evolutionary advancement is that sometime before zero can divide, pig's wings will get so long and flat that wind resistance will get the better of them and they'll lift right off the ground. Pigs, then with the ability to push air downward around their ears, shall fly high into the sky, thus blocking sunlight from all holes into the underworld. With no sunlight, as we know, Hell will freeze over. What are other evolutionary/world advancements?

I've always held the belief that 0 divided by 0 is 1, but I have no other serious beliefs on the matter of zero division.
