Brag about them, whine about them, tell interesting stories about them.
I'm gonna list all the shows I've been to and I'd be interested in seeing other people's lists.
2006-09-23 - Widespread Panic 2006-11-25 - Gov't Mule 2007-00-00 - Paul Green School of Rock w/ Jon Anderson 2007-07-09 - Rush 2007-09-27 - moe. 2007-10-05 - Gov't Mule 2007-10-19 - Phil Lesh & Friends 2008-06-20 - ZZ Top 2008-06-21 - Dickey Betts & Great Southern 2008-07-07 - Rush 2008-08-02 - Gathering of the Vibes (Alternate Routes, Bill Kreutzmann Trio, Mike Gordon, Phil Lesh & Friends)
And the reason I made this thread is because tonight I'm going to see The Allman Brothers Band with Bob Weir & Ratdog. Bobby will be the third of the four remaining Grateful Dead members that I've seen live. I've always looked forward to seeing the ABB as well.
There are some interesting things about some of my experiences I might describe in a later post.

Sadly, since my town is ridiculously small and the nearest city that gets concerts isn't the biggest stop for most bands, I've been to a total of two concerts:
My first was Nickelback way, way back when they were still good (Silver Side Up era) and not an embarrassment to the quality of Canadian music. They were fairly good live from what I remember and there was a lot of pyrotechnics (oooo purdy burning things). There was also Three Days Grace, who was relatively unknown back then, which were way better than Nickelback. It should also be noted that this was back when Three Days Grace wasn't the complete trainwreck they are today. And then there was Trapt, who are as bad live as their CDs.
This year I went to Gigantour, with In Flames, Job For A Cowboy, Children of Bodom, High On Fire, and, of course, Megadeth. I never even heard of High On Fire or Job For A Cowboy before I went there and they were a little too... rawr rawr for my liking. And Megadeth was an absolute bore, as they lip synched the entire thing. I actually fell asleep during it as I sat off to the side (VERY small venue BTW). But Children of Bodom and In Flames more than made up for it. There was so much energy in the crowd and the two bands were excellent live. This was also my first concert that I A) Moshed nearly all night and B) Crowd Surfed (which is quite a feat with someone of my.... girth).
I'm hoping that I'll be able to go to more concerts once I move out to Saskatoon for University.

Foo Fighters last month. A little sad to say, but it was my first concert.
They rocked my face off. Played a good mix of old and new, and Dave Grohl was amazing. My ears were ringing for a day after the show.

Favorites: Mastodon, right after Blood Mountain came out. Front row, awesome beards. Death Cab. Ben Gibbard's voice is amazing live. The Deftones The Fall of Troy 4 times w/ Tera Melos, HORSE the band w/ Protest the Hero w/ Tera Melos, Foxy Shazam (who are AMAZING) x 2, once of which my friend and I flew out to Seattle to see them play in their "hometown" venue, which was RAD. Thomas Erak was crazy ill, thew up on stage and still played a full set and then some. The Mars Volta, right after Bedlam came out. Played for close to 2 and a half hours, and then again at: Sasquatch Fest, which was The Flaming Lips, Flight of the Conchords, The Mars Volta, Kay Kay and His Weathered Underground (not too big, but I like them), and Ghostland Observatory. Saw Wayne Coyne sitting on a bench. He also stared the show by coming out of a giant UFO and running around on top of the crowd in a plastic bubble. Cedric from TMV threw a fan and part of the drum set at the audience. Also tried to steal some crazy expensive camera: The Raconteurs, put on a great show, played a five song encore, Jack White jumped into the crowd and saved a girl who had passed out. Within the next couple of months I should be seeing: Ratatat Electric Six Foxy Shazam (for the third time) Vampire Weekend Jimmy Edgar and Ben Folds

I really don't have any great concert stories, as I only started going to them last year. Sorry. >_>
Wolfmother Great show. The crowd was high-energy, and since the place was so packed the entire venue was like a giant mosh pit. >.> Fun moments: -Two guys who drank waaay too much puked right in front of my friend and I and stumbled out of the venue. Some of it on my shoes and jacket. >_< -During the end of White Unicorn, the crowd started swaying back and forth in a huge group. I dropped the digital camera I was holding in my pocket and didn't find it until after the show when everyone cleared out. It wasn't broken, surprisingly. -My friend Ryan crowd-surfed throughout pretty much all of "Dimension" -Some other guy tried to crowd-surf during Joker and the Thief and got dropped in like 5 seconds. He wasn't hurt.
Avenged Sevenfold, Black Tide, and The Confession -During The Confession's set, my friend and I had to go upstairs to escape the massive moshing that ensued. Some people were just outright fighting, it was kinda ridiculous. -During Black Tide's set, some guy threw beer bottles at the rhythm guitarist twice. The singer stopped the song to curse at him and security hauled the guy off. -Nothing of note really happened during Avenged Sevenfold's set, besides how incredible they sounded (and they did Remenissions, which was a HUGE surprise. My favorite song by them). After the last song, the crowd chanted for them for a good 15 minutes and they came back and did a 4 song encore. Twas awesome.
Wish You Were Here (awesome Pink Floyd cover band) -Opening act was awesome and got almost as much applause/cheering as the headliner. I forgot their names thoughl. >.> -During "Pigs" they had, of course, the giant inflatable pig. The crowd went nuts. -Saxaphone player on "Shine on You Crazy Diamond", "Money", and "Us and Them" got CRAZY applause. He was awesome. -A tall guy with too many piercings and a short old guy almost got into a fight. Someone in the audience successfully stopped the altercation by pulling them apart, showing them both the peace sign and saying "It's all about the love, man!". Seriously, that stopped them from kicking the crap out of each other.

This past weekend I saw Gov't Mule for the third time (great as always) and Yes, who were definitely lacking due to the absence of Jon Anderson, but still put on a pretty fantastic show, I must say. Substitute singer, Wakeman's son on keyboards, fourth show of the tour, so it wasn't as epic as Yes can be, but still awfully impressive.

I saw The Sword, Down, and Metallica Sunday night.
The Sword- I used to think they sucked, but they were actually quite awesome. Might give them another chance.
Down- Phil Anselmo is awesome. His new band is not. Most of the audience wasn't really into it, and you could tell he was angry about that , so it was incredibly awkward. Also he swore a lot.
Metallica- There were a few odd moments in this concert. Before the intros of "That Was Just Your Life" and "Battery", we could clearly hear the intros of the songs being played over the PA instead of by the band. Very strange. Besides that, great show. There were lasers and fire (especially during "One", which was INTENSE), giant rotating coffins that appeared to be made of duct tape, and HUNDREDS of black Metallica beach balls during the encore. Yes, beach balls.
Oh, and they sounded great too. In addition to all the big hits and the Death Magnetic singles, they pulled out a couple songs I was not expecting, like Sad But True (also known as the best Metallica song on the black album), Die Die My Darling, Wherever I May Roam, and Seek & Destroy. Also, the last song played over the PA before Metallica got on the stage was by Megadeth. Nice touch.

I'm going to guess no, but did they happen to play Hero of the Day and/or Wiskey in the Jar?

Unfortunately, no and no.
They played pretty much what you would expect them to play. The only ones that I was surprised about were Leper Messiah and Wherever I May Roam.
