Has anyone tried this amazing game yet? I've been playing the crap out of the demo. It's shaping up to be better than Call of Duty 4, and that's saying a lot since COD4 is the Holy Grail of videogames for teenage males with too much adrenaline and access to energy drinks (example: me).
It's got destructible environments, tanks, massive online play (24 players at once), the works. Go read about it and get that demo. http://www.gamespot.com/xbox360/action/battlefieldbadcompany/news.html?sid=6189925

Battlefield has always been a good game.
But, COD4 as the "Holy Grail"? I don't know if I would go that far. Not sure Halo 3 has that title. I don't think there's any one game that could be called the Holy Grail for the group you mentioned.

COD4 isn't the Holy Grail to everyone...just people in my age group/demographic. We're the type of people who would sell a kidney to get money to renew our XBL Gold subscription and play COD4 more.

See, I'm not even sure that's true about your age group. I know a lot of people that I think are around your age, and some of them prefer COD4, some of them Halo 3, and still some of them Battlefield 2 or 1942 or 2142 or Unreal.

Doesn't calling it a "Holy Grail" means that it takes a difficult quest to obtain?
I guess then It's gotta be Duke Nukem: Forever.

You're aware that some new gameplay footage was recently released, correct?

Yeah, how often have they done that? I'll believe the game will be released one day when it's actually released.
And, I don't think Counter-Strike can claim that. I really don't think there's one specific game, but I could be wrong.

http://www.steampowered.com/status/game_stats.htmlWell, it seems the chart is a bit messed up currently, not showing the number of players, but still, I think you'll get the idea. Ooh, and I just noticed how old it actually is. I saw a more recent version (no idea where it's at now...) and the numbers for both CS and CSS were actually higher. Pretty weird, I think.

lulz. I didn't know I was inadvertently starting a 'this FPS is more popular' war.
I guess I should've said that a fair amount of my friends (who usually play Halo 3 and Call of Duty 4 until their eyes bleed) are now playing the BF: Bad Company demo instead. Seems like it'll be very popular for FPS fans. The demo is lagging really badly right now though.

Yeah, I heard there were a lot of lag probles. Hopefully it doesn't end up like the 360 version of TF2...

TF2's gotten a lot better actually. It used to be pretty bad, but it's gotten better for me and anyone I have asked about it. Like now, only one game in several is laggy, instead of the other way around.

The most I've heard about this game is about the controversial special edition. Apperently if you shell out* extra cash for the special edition, you get to cheat your way to victory.
*ever noticed that this phrase is only used for bad or unfair deals, and typically only for media? Weird.

Me and my friends have been playing the multiplayer on this demo nonstop now since yesterday. This game is pretty amazing. In my opinion, it's shaping up to be better than both Halo 3 and CoD 4... I love how pretty much everything is destructible.
The singleplayer portion of the demo was okay, I didn't really play that much of it. But this game, like Halo and Call of Duty, will probably be bought mostly for the multiplayer...

It's a shame that there's no co-op option for the single player campaign. But everyone just plays Battlefield for the multiplayer anyway. Which is awesome.
I won't buy it until I can afford the special edition and get an unfair advantage though. (b^_^)b
