Confessions, Part IV
« on: July 25, 2008, 10:34:11 pm »

Yes, this is named after Confessions and Confessions, Part II by Usher and Confessions Part III by Weird Al. Now that that's out of the way...

We all have them. Those things that we're fans of or we do that we're not exactly rushing out to tell our friends about. So, if you have anything that you might die of embarrassment if your friends found out about it...or you'd flat-out deny it or at least hem and haw before admitting it...but you don't have a problem sharing it with a bunch of random people on the internet that odds are you'll never meet, then feel free to post them here! As per forum rules, G-rated things only, and I would ask that we refrain from making fun or teasing people for their things or be judgmental but to simply accept this. Since this is something I thought of today, I'll kick it off.

I think the cat is out of the bag that I'm a Power Ranger fan (though I will admit I'm severely far behind in this current season). Well, there's another thing, something that honestly I didn't even really realize it was really true until two days ago when I got some songs of hers. I am a Hannah Montana/Miley Cyrus fan. I have enjoyed the show, but I've never gotten the music until now. I have to say, of the ones I have, I particularly like Rockstar and See You Again from the second HM album and Breakout from Miley's album which was just released Tuesday. (Interesting fact, the episode where I first heard Rockstar had a special guest star: David Koechner, who Office fans will know as Todd Packer, Michael Scott's pal that is really quite a jerk).

The thing is, my music appreciation and tastes in music have really grown. I've got a lot of songs that most people would find cool, so I think I'm allowed to be a fan of music that may seem more "kiddy" (though, truth is, I think there's actually a fair amount of people here that would like Rockstar and Breakout in particular).

I've got another confession to make:

I'm your fool.

Sorry, I had to do it. You were mentioning confessions and music and The Foo just popped into my head immediately. Well, since I posted, I might as well kick start this:

First off is the WoW confession. Yes, I play it. A lot. Well, a lot and not that much at the same time. I tend to sporadicly leave the game for a few months and then dive back in again. But when I play, I play a heck of a lot. But it is very embarrassing to admit. In fact, I read this article not too far back that supports my embarassment. In a random survey, the results showed that people were more embarrassed to admit they played the game than... well... some Non "G-rated" things.

Back to the topic at hand, I only have one 70, but I've brought him into SSC/TK/Hyjal content, which if you didn't know (which I'm sure you don't) are the 5th, 4th, and 3rd highest raid instances in the game. Doesn't sound like much, I know and really isn't. I'm in a casual raiding guild, which is more of a "come and go as you please" type experience. It's fun though and I like it. But the most embarassing portion of my Wow experience is my knowledge of it. Not the game in itself, but of my character. An Elemental Shaman. It is one of the (if not the) simplest playstyles in the game, but I know it like the back of my hand. I can tell you how to level as one, what spells to cast and in what rotation in Battlegrounds, raids, and arenas, what talents you should take for what situation, what gear is an improvement to what you have, and how you should approach nearly every boss fight in the game, even the ones I haven't done yet. I startle my WoW-friends (those are my friends who also play WoW, not my friends in WoW) sometimes by how much I know about something so simple.

A few mini-ones here:
I love Michael Jackson's music, probably because I pay no attention to him as a celebrity, only as a musician.
I hate what Britney Spears has brought to the music industry, but some of her songs are really, really good when remixed.
I've cried during more movies than I can count off the top of my head and I'm not talking about when I was a kid (although, strangely, I didn't cry through Old Yeller when I was a child).
I watch Avatar: The Last Airbender (but that's more of a promotion than a confession. Watch that show! It's good!) and am sad that it ended.
I went to the theatre to see the Spongebob Squarepants Movie and do know the Goofy Goober song off by heart.
I once slept in the bathroom (blanket, pillow, and all) with the lights on when I couldn't sleep after watching a horror film.
I still own my Yu-gi-oh and Pokemon cards and still know how to play both games.
I often whistle the music in the original pokemon games.
I have a tremendous fear of blood (I refrain from telling my friends this not due to embarrassment, but due to them pric king they're finger and me freaking out about it).
The Power Rangers theme is one of my favourite songs.

That's all I can think of that are G-rated right now. Not the best list, but it'll do.

I think the cat is out of the bag that I'm a Power Ranger fan (though I will admit I'm severely far behind in this current season).
My brother met one of the earlier power rangers (like season 1, 2, or maybe even 3) in the last year. One of his friends is good friends with her.

I've heard Hannah Montana songs many times and I must say, her voice is like a female version of this.

Alright, so, confessions... I find Halo not very interesting. Yeah. That's... that's my confession.

Whoo, this is going to be embarrassing. Here we go:

-I have trouble falling asleep if I don't have stuffed animals on my bed. I have a white teddy bear that I've had since I was 5 and The Cheat, the latter of which currently resides on my bed to keep the Boogeyman from killing me in my sleep.
-Pink is actually not my favorite color (even if I post in it a lot). It's my third, with green and red taking the second and first spots respectively
-I've never actually completed a full Castlevania game, though I've played 90% of them at one point or another
-Even though my siblings and parents enlist me to kill any bugs that show up in the house, I'm more afraid of them than they are. I just pretend to be tough so they don't freak out more. >_> I'm REALLY scared of praying mantises, spiders, and roaches....thankfully, only small spiders show up in my home from time to time
-I once broke the door handle of someone's car and didn't tell them or leave a note
-I own all of my Digimon and Pokemon cards back from when I was younger and still collected them
-I never knew how to play the Pokemon card game, I just collected the cards. But I was absolutely untouchable at Digimon cards...too bad no one else had any.

Finally, I am currently wearing women's jeans.
I accidentally bought them at Hot Topic on a shopping spree, and I didn't notice that they were women's jeans until I brought them home and noticed that they were actually deep purple, not black. I couldn't even tell when I tried them on.
But whatever, they still fit fine.

Also, I lied about that last thing. I'm sorry.

My confession: That has to be the worst song on the planet, no hyperbole. I could beat a squirrel to death and it would sound better than this. Why would you post such a thing without warning us? Seriously, ouch.

No but really, lemme think of a real one...
- I enjoy Caramell's music
- I've never owned a cell phone
- I cry every time at the end of Homeward Bound: The Incredible Journey.

*sniff*... Shadow made it after all!

Well...

- I usually pick the girl character on games due to the fact that I don't like staring at a guy's backside for a long period of time

- I've never had a date, kissed a girl, and the closest I've got to being with one was a slow dance at a school dance

- I enjoy listening to Caramell Dansen (Speedycake remix) over and over and could most likely restate most of the lyrics

- I've realized that I'm a lonely, angsty, almost 17 year old... I feel sad now. Oh wells.

- I still own about 200 some Yugioh cards and could most likely remember how to play it

- I was reported on WoW for making a Jewish joke (It was like, 2 AM!), though nothing happened other than getting an in-game letter and an email

- I have a fear of any kind of stinging bugs, like bees or wasps.

- I'm very wimpy when it comes to getting in the pool, usually getting in after my sister and mom

- I like pirates and ninjas pretty equally

Here we go....

I kill and eat people.

Well, my friend always says that you can't hate something until you've tried a bite of it, even cannibalism.

A few that I share with you peeps:

Also, I wax/pluck my eyebrows.
I also do this, but for a different reason. My face is determined to grow a unibrow once and a while and I either get it waxed, plucked, or lasered off.

- I've never had a date, kissed a girl, and the closest I've got to being with one was a slow dance at a school dance
Also a similar situation for me. Although, I have many female friends, I just never thought having a relationship in high school to be a good idea, so I never tried.

- I have a fear of any kind of stinging bugs, like bees or wasps.
I used to be the same way. My fear started when I was a kid and I was sitting on our backyard fence. I got stung by a bee and fell off the fence, which was where most of the pain of the incident happened. My brother was also deathly allergic to bees, so I had the notion that I was too, so I freaked out. I was afraid of them up until two years ago, when we accidentally destroyed a wasp nest at my cabin and I got stung several times while running to the house and did not notice for a few hours.

Hmmm...see this is a very hard topic for me because I'm pretty much an extremely open person.

Really, the only thing I can think of is that I sleep with my cat at night. Mostly out of habit, not out of necessity. I've been doing it since I was like, 8, so it's just become a nightly ritual to pick him up and take him into my room when I go to bed.

Also, I have never actually dated a female, but I've done other...things <_<

Off the top of my head:

I talk about myself way too much during any conversation.

I talk to myself more than is healthy.

Sometimes I act grumpy or blue in the hopes that somebody will notice, so I can tell them about my problems.

I don't actually have important problems.

I'm pretty bad at putting opinions into words, so sometimes I take others'.

Good thread.*

I'll actually do this too. Unless I specifically feel really for or against something, I'll just agree with the last person I talked to about the subject. Mostly this applies to whether or not I like a certain movie, show, or band.
