Stupid computer problems
« on: April 27, 2011, 07:33:05 pm »

I've gotten into yelling matches with my computer over this stuff...

First off, I run Vista on this thing. I've had this computer for quite a few years, but I've upgraded it a little with what I can afford and what I know how to do, which is just the graphics card and the RAM.

Anyways, I can't even go into Programs and Features to uninstall some games to clear some space. It loads them all, then just freezes up. Windows explorer completely freezes up and has to be restarted, which a notice tells me.

Next I have an icon that I can't do anything with on my desktop. It's a game I downloaded, but trying to use it does nothing and trying to right click freezes up Windows Explorer. Trying to move the icon to the recycle bin does the same as right clicking.

Due to all this, I'm seriously considering upgrading to Windows 7. I don't care about the hard drive being reformatted, I can save the important files I need on a flash drive.

I'mma try googling some of this, but I'm still gonna upgrade sometime when I can afford it.

I had the exact same issue with Programs and Features back when I was running Vista. Either it would freeze for no reason, or not let me uninstall programs. I don't know much about computers but I do know that upgrading to Windows 7 did stop that issue.

Right now, I'm trying to solve the mystery of "why my computer can't wake up from sleep mode".

Google is no help...

At least upgrading from Vista to 7 is only $119. Hopefully I can save up soon...
