Fully voiced Story Mode Challenges, sounds like some wacky stuff! (Beat Big Band without jumping? Defeat a team of three Doubles?) Trials. I'll just directly quote because I love it
"Trials test players’ skills by having them to perform combos. Trials are built on a new button-by-button instructional system to make learning combos easier and more intuitive than ever. Furthermore, unlike many fighting game trials, Skullgirls 2nd Encore’s trials include combos frequently used in real play, from basic bread ‘n butter to more advanced combos." I love Trials.

This weekend is COMBO BREAKER, an awesome tournament in Chicago that's sorta like one I went to in Chicago before. Featuring:
-The biggest Skullgirls tournament of the year! They're on the main stage -Marvel 3, USF4, Smash 4, Mortal Kombat X character auction tournaments -The famous Mystery Game Tournament where anything can happen -Tekken 7! You can play it even!
Glad to see there's actually been enthusiasm for my current favorite genre in here! I like some playing a little bit of every obscure fighting game (my avatar is a certain Power Instinct character) myself. It's been my favorite genre in recent years. My favorite series has to be The King of Fighters though. Especially KOF 98 Ultimate Match Final Edition. For Street Fighter, I kinda like IV better than V still. Feels more robust.
