I have two very important questions about Xbox One.

1. Will 1 vs. 100 come back?
2. Will Netflix Parties come back?

These are deal breakers. I need at least one, Microsoft. Let's do this.

Back in elementary school, someone told me that if you caught one of those fish, it would give you a star.

So many wasted hours.

Signed "Bonkava!"?! I believe you mean Maxwell Smart.

Also, Devourer of Time, remember when they revealed the Xbox 360's name as "Xbox 360" and you said you'd forever call it "Xenon"? (its original name)

Good times. (pardon the pun)

This is so needlessly complicated.

And it doesn't even tell me when they're releasing a wired version of that controller.

Wires? Where we're going we won't need wires.

What use have we for wires when we can watch The Wire, right through our Xbox One Home Entertainment Device?

The controller will be both wireless and wired. It connects via micro USB and when it's connected, the radio frequency shuts off and the signal travels through the cord.

Now, I realize that what Microsoft reveals yesterday sounds bad. But I thought about it yesterday. And while I'm upset as a gamer on principle, in reality, this doesn't affect me personally.

Am I likely to not have an internet connection? No. Am I likely to borrow games from friends or loan them to friends? No, as I never really did for 360. Am I likely to rent games. Maybe. I rented 3 games this gen but pretty much decide on my own whether I want a game or not.

Now, would it be nice to have these options, even if I never take advantage of them? Sure. But that reminds me of a line Michael Scott said in an episode of The Office I recently saw.

"Will I ever skydive off a plane or snowboard down a mountain? Probably not. But I want the option to do so."

You look at Michael and you know that he'd never actually do those things. And I would never utilize the options.

I think this has to be a personal decision for everyone. If these things directly affect you, then PS4 is for you. If not, then Xbox One is a viable option (depending on how you like the exclusives, if you like trophies or achievements, and pretty much everything else that factored in 360 vs PS3).

I sympathize with gamers where this is an issue, but on a personal decision, I'm still considering the One right now.

And, for the record, the Kinect can be paused or turned off. Which is just as good. And Microsoft said no data would leave your system and be sent to them without your express permission. And all the worries about it reacting to regular conversation they've already addressed, and bottom line is, we won't know if it's true until launch, but it's not in their interest to lie
