OK, how I (*cough*andacpigeon*cough*) is this:

1) I use Photoshop and a prgram called UnFREEz, which is a free downloadable basic .gif creator, sorry i dont know the link right nowDownload UnFREEz here: Warning: Some people say it messes up your computer...like, more than 3...so download at your own risk, i guess... (it might also work in Flash, but i havent tried)

2) Watch the .swf version of a H*R toon

3) pause the movie on the first screen of the animation you want, and hit the Print Screen Button

4) Open photoshop, and hit paste

5) Go back to the movie, and right click, and hit "Forward", and print screen again

6) Paste it in photoshop, it will automaticly create a new layer for every time you paste something

7) Repeat 5 and 6 until you have all of the frames you want

8 ) Select a portion of the image that you want; it has to be around everything you want in you animation, on every frame

9) Crop the picture to that selection

10) turn the vision off of every layer

11) Turn vision to the first layer on, and save the image as "1.gif" (If you are using UnFREEz, it MUST be saved as a Gif.

12) Turn that layer's vision off, and turn layer 2's vision on, save as "2.gif"

13) Repeat 11 and 12 with each layer until every layer's image has been saved

14) Open UnFREEz and the folder in which all the images are saved.

15) Drag the files in order into UnFREEz and set the time/speed you want, and click "Create Animated Gif"

16) Save it wherever you want it and upload it to the web.

That might be confusing if you dont have Photoshop or UnFREEz...and i haven't tryed it in Flash, but I'm pretty sure it's possible, but probably harder than UnFREEz, so someone else can post a Flash tutorial for that if they want...

Dag.... that's what I was going to say; exept that I wasn't going to talk about animation. That's an awsome tutorial you have, though Wink.

For people with HP computers, you might have a program called HP Print Screen. I use it all the time.

To Whom It May Concern (Ooh, how formal!):

For those out there with Photoshop, you probably have a program called "ImageReady". It's a GIF animating program, and it's very useful. Basically, to make an animated GIF:

1. Follow steps 1-9 in D_B's tutorial..

2. Save the image as a PSD file, not a GIF file.

3. Open ImageReady, open your saved file.

4. Find the Animation palette. It should be at the bottom of the screen. Click on the arrow on the right hand side of the palette. Click on "Make frames from layers".

5. Run through the animation by pressing play on the palette.

6. If there are any frames you don't want (the background layer will probably make a blank white frame, not very useful), delete them by clicking on the frame, then the little trash can icon. Run through the animation again, check to see if it looks all right.

7. After it's all resized, looks good and everything, save it by going to File - Save Optimized As. Remember, not Save As; Save Optimized As (that had me confused when I was just starting out).

And that's about it. There are more complicated things ImageReady can do, like tweening, but this is pretty much the basic thing you gotta know if you wanna make animated GIFs with it. If anyone has any questions, problems, money donations (pleeeeeease???), just PM me.

I'm trying to just get the screens, but not the whole thing. Like if your favourites thing is opened.

No prob, D_B. I might post some more in the future (eg, how to tween).

Hmm... well, do you have an image editing program, like Photoshop? If you don't, you could always go into Paint, select the area you want to be in the screenshot, copy it, open a new document, and paste it. A little complicated, but that's the only way I know with paint. Either that, or you can just close your favorites menu. Wink
