Did you ever play the original?
No sir, I did not. It managed to impress me without any kind of nostalgia factor, which is something I am a big fan of (nostalgia). Also the lack of online multi-play is dumb, but I thought that went without saying.

Yeah, but it is still a great game, especially for ten bucks.
I actually never played past the first stage of the original, but I knew I liked it, and I really like this.

Totally agreed. I would recommend that anybody who buys it play through the demo first, since you can see some pretty funny bonus scenes before unlocking the full game.

Sonic the Werewolf.

BC Rearmed is crazy fun!
I like the cheesy 80s charm (see: 8-bit Extra Life powerups, the dialogue) and the not-so-subtle BUY THE GAME messages in the demo. I'm buying it.

So my friend totally just bought me The World Ends With You for me on a whim. Because it was the last copy at the store.
Awesome.

yesyes That reminds me that I need to finish the Secret Reports. I never finished them, proving once again that I can't finish games.

So Bionic Commando has just jumped Braid and is now my second favorite XBLA game. Seriously guys, ask Stinko or SBSonic, you need to buy it. (After you've bought Rez HD)

Upon going through my all of my stuff in my house and packing to move into dorms, I stumbled upon a Nintendo Power magazine previewing Final Fantasy II (IV). It was also featured as the covered art.
Yeah. I'm definitely keeping that.

Man, that's awesome. The oldest intact Nintendo Power I have is covering Tetris Attack for the SNES. Though I definitely found an issue a while back that had an Epic Centre feature on EarthBound.

I'm just going through them all now. That one is for sure my oldest one, but I have others that date back to the time of like Donkey Kong Country 2. And I have every copy after that right up until about early last year (which is when my grandma quit renewing my subscription, though I quit reading it back in 2005).
It's hard to believe that I've read everyone one of these things at least once. But it's nice to breeze through the older issues and be reminded of the great games (and laughably bad ones) that seem to be forgotten by time.
Man, I really want to play Ogre Battle 64 and Lost Vikings right now.

Man, Nintendo Power made Lost Vikings seem so cool. It's too bad that no video store around here ever had it in stock. Buying games back then was out of the question for me, since the weak Canadian dollar+cartridge-based games resulted in ridiculously high game prices.

I remember the days of games selling for $100. Those were sad days.
Oh hey, pictures of Ocarina of Time that look nothing like the final game.

Hahahaha yeah.
Also great: previews of Sumo wrestling games that never had a chance of making it to North America.
