Is it just me, or has John completely lost his awesomeness?
Before, he was like, "look at me, I have knives and kill boars." Yeah. Awesome. Now, it's like, "look at me, I blow important stuff up." Yeah. Lame.

So uh, If I'm thinking correctly, the previews said someone was gonna die tomorrow. Who do you think its gonna be?

I agree completely. 24 is just completely superior to LOST in so many ways, and seniority is only one.

Yes, but last night's episode was amazing. Wow. Just finished watching the last 6 minutes or so (my brother-in-law's DVR stopped recording it, methinks LOST went over last night).

I heard someone describe LOST, and it seemed very similar to the book The Mysterious Island, by Jules Verne. It's the sequel to 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea. What happens in the book is this:
Four castaways and a dog crash on an island in a hot air balloon. They struggle to survive for a while, and all sorts of strange things happen in their favor that are completely unexplainable. As time goes on, they move underground to a cavern they unearthed with explosives they made, they meet a wild man named Ayrton, who was abandoned on a neighboring island, they get an orangutan named Joop, etc. Eventually, pirates attack, and after a while their ship is mysteriously destroyed. Survivors on the island are soon found dead, with no evidence of how or why. After a while, due to a strange set of circumstances, they discover that Captain Nemo was behind it all, and was operating from an undersea cavern that was linked by a tunnel to their cavern. He summons them to the Nautilus submarine, and on his deathbed explains his life to them. They sink the Nautilus for him as a tomb, and soon after the island's volcano erupts. They escape when a ship picks them up, as they had received a bottled message from Nemo.
Is it similar?

Mmm, kinda. There was a dog that crashed on the island with them, which actually appeared in the last episode. Unexplainable things happen. They find a hatch which leads underground that they opened with dynamite that they found in the jungle, and they meet Desmond, who's definitely eccentric, especially now with his weird physic power. Others dressed up as pirates (sorta, more like modern day pirates) blow up their raft. And, there was a sub that the Others had which got blown up by Locke. Those are the only similarities I see. So, maybe like a third of that is accurate.

Okay, so if you saw the season finale last night...did you feel that the finale didn't live up to the hype? I was expecting to be left on some sort of high, like a "OMG I CAN'T WAIT FOR NEXT SEASON!" type of thing, and instead...just got sorta confused and like "...what?" Is it just me, or are other people thinking the same thing?

I don't have the "...what?" deal going on, but I'm not super-excited, either.
'Tis more of a "hmm..." feeling.

Whoa. Okay, surely I can't be the only LOST fan left on the forum. So...what'd you guys think?
I now totally love the idea of flash-forwards. It makes me go "what the crap happened on the island?" Really concentrates everything on the action on the island.
After re-watching the season finale last night, I've changed my mind about it. It rocks.
I also have to say that I loved seeing Charlie again, if only in the flash-forward in Hurley's "head." Can't wait for next week.

Ideas on the rest of the "Oceanic 6," anyone?
We've got Jack, Kate, and Hurley so far.
