Hmm. Not much of a college sports fan (or general sports fan for that matter), but I do have a couple of faves. Michigan would be number one on my list. Oklahoma would be another (not sure if that's Univ. of, or State, Hoosiers the mascot though), and UCLA. Yes, I am a Michigan fan, so yes, I see Michigan State and Ohio State as the enemies. Oh. And, WHO won this year's U of M vs. MSU game? Who did? Michigan? Why yes.

Just so neither of us will forget, Neckless and I have a bet going... if USC beats UCLA, I will have a USC avitar for a week... when UCLA beats USC, he will have a UCLA avitar. Evil Grin

And let the record show that this bet was Potthole's idea, so he can't be bitter when he has to wear a USC avatar for a whole week. Wink

I'll be hitting up my second Michigan game of the season next weekend.  I went to the season opener back in August, and next week I will be there to watch them cream Indiana.

The main reason why I'm rooting for UCLA is because of my strong disdain for USC.  I will do anything to watch USC lose.

Well you two can just keep it up with your little USC vs. UCLA thing.  My Mountaineers are laughing their way to the BCS.

Indeed!  Give us 1-loss teams a chance!  I can't really see 'Bama going all the way.  Fall Tide fall!

Tide will fall, USC will fall.  I only see Texas running the table the rest of the way.

The Tide will probably lose to LSU this weekend, but I've learned better than to count out a team based on paperwork matchups. As for the other two undefeateds, I think Texas has just as much chance of losing to Texas A&M as USC has of losing to UCLA. Needless to say, they'll both be undefeated when they play each other in the Rose Bowl. (Sorry, The Chort.Wink)

Newsflash, Potthole: your supposed UCLA redeemers lost to the second worst team in the Pac-10, 2-6 Arizona! You should have heard the cheers at the Coliseum when they flashed the score on the bigscreen. Wink

Yes, UCLA lost on Saturday, but I'm not scared.  They'll fix their problems by December.

Well, I don't know what to think... while I do not care for any of the "undefeateds" 'specially SoCal--- yeah I said SoCal (y'all hate being called that right)... I agree that Tejas will probably be the only undefeated. I say this only because USC seems to play sloppy ball for half the game. It'll eventually bite them on the butt. Bama has lost a lot of key people... and when you have no one stepping up on offense and have alot of trouble scoring an offensive touchdown (except against the Little Sisters of the Poor--- see Utah St.) you won't win big conference games... they will lose to either LSU or AU or both unless there are some radical changes; those two teams aren't Miss. St.
As for Tejas, they got the OU monkey off there back... I just don't see them getting careless and blowing it this late in the year. Think of the shame of finally beat OU and then losing... they leaned from VT... if they hadn't already!!!!

I may not like the BCS but if USC proves me wrong; I can say it worked this year... considering that would leave only two based off my other insights!!!

You, my friend, deserve a pizza-trophy for that.  I agree fully with all those statements.

USC has dramatically improved their defense and first half play since their game against Notre Dame. And before we get into how bad USC looked in that game, let's remember Notre Dame is ranked #7 in the nation. Now, let's take a look at USC's three games since then, shall we?

Exhibit A: USC-51, Washington-24
Key stats: Look at the score! The actual yardage gained by each team's offense was surpisingly close, but that's really not a good indicator. Anyone watching the game could tell you that USC dominated the entire game, first half included.

Exhibit B: USC-55, Washington State-13
Key stats: Total blowout. USC set a season record of 40 first downs and 745 yards of total offense, including 269 yards in the first quarter. Quarterback Matt Leinart passed for 364 yards before being taken out in the third quarter to give their backup quarterback a chance to play. On the defensive front, I'd like to point out that WSU was held to 60 yards passing in the entire game.

Exhibit C: USC-51, Stanford-21
Key stats: USC scored on EVERY SINGLE first half possesion. The score was 44-7 by halftime, and USC's punter didn't even appear until partway through the 3rd quarter. USC was so far ahead that they played their second team for almost all of the second half. USC's offense also racked up a "measely" 500 yards of total offense.

If USC would ever decide to play a full 4 quarters of a game, they'd be unstoppable, and run the table no problem. But, they seem to enjoy the "Hey guys, let's only play half a game!" concept. Tongue

It looks to me like USC isn't just a second half team anymore. Wink

Click here and you'll see why I'm bursting with pride for my alma mater this season.  We made the D III playoff field of 32 with homefield advantage today for the first time in the school's history.

Michigan-Ohio State is next week.  Biggest rivalry game in all of college football.  I wish I had an extra $300 to pick up some tickets.

That is up for debate... call me a homer, but the Ala. and Aub. game is the biggest... well at least the most passionate. Oh to see another where they both go in 10-0; those rare occurances are so sweet. My friend gets to go, for the mere price of helping another of my friends paint his bathroom. I wish I could go. I really think that Aub. screwed themselves this year. A better kicking game vs. LSU and 2 less 4th quarter INTs vs Georgia Tech in the very first game for Cox and there would be added trouble for the BCS....
See also a Penn St. loss with 1 second left and an LSU meltdown vs. Tenn.

The BCS should thank their lucky stars!!!
