In some sports related news, I'll be going to a Detroit Tigers game with a friend in a little more than a week.

Our seats are lower deck infield box, here's an approx. view from them:

So, I'm basically counting down the days until June 14, when it will be road trip time to Detroit!  Grin

HOW ABOUT THEM ATHLETES?

I think athletes don't get enough credit for what they do. It has to be hard enough staying in peak physical condition, but it has to stink when you know that everyone out there is bashing you when your team loses.

i was refing soccer today. at the start of the game, It was really hot out, no wind (not even a breeze) and there wasn't a cloud in the sky.

An hour later, it was just about to rain, there was lightning in the distance, and 60km/h winds were blowing across the field. the other ref and i had to call off the game.

That's just crazy. well, at least i still get paid.

Well, my friend and I made it out to Detroit and back all safe, for our Tiger's game on Tuesday.

Our trip home was rather exciting, to say the least.  First we got lost in the ghetto of downtown Detroit at around 11:30 PM, trying to find our way to the highway.  Then, once we finally got on the highway, our map got sucked out my car window, leaving us without a map for our 3 hour drive home.

Ah, roadtrips, so much fun...

Here's a few of my pictures from the game:

My friend and I outside the stadium, I'm on the left.

In the bottom of the 2nd inning a rainstorm blew through, it looked like a hurricane out there.

Ivan "Pudge" Rodriguez, catcher for the Tigers, swinging at a pitch.  If you look just to the right of his head, you'll notice a white streak, the ball flying away.  I was very impressed that my camera could pick up the ball.

Kyle Farnsworth warming up.

Dmitri Young at the plate, with Rondell White on deck.

Now that's what we like to see at the end of the game!

Well, all i can say about those pics is either that your friend is a gaint, or your not the biggest guy ever. But cool i havn't been to a baseball game in a few months. I did get 3rd base box seats at a yankee game though, unfortuanlly it was cold and rainy and they lost to texas rangers.

well, i don't know about your area, but in my province, there is only refs for u10 levels and above. so you have to be at least 11 to be able to ref. i started refing when i was 12. i am usually a head ref in u12 games, but i have enough training to be u14 head ref. i lines a few games here and there. i make pretty good money too. last year, i made over $300 (canadian, BTW) for 28 games.

what do we all think's gonna happen with tonight's NBA Draft? i think Andrew Bogut will go first. i also  hope that our Indy Star will be right and the Pacers will take Francisco Garcia. He's one of my facorite players in the draft right now.

Cool, potthole! I think Comerica Park is a park I'd like to visit someday. I've visted quite a few parks(Fenway, Wrigley, GABP, Camden Yards, Citz Bank Park, Yankee Stadium, Shea Stadium, Busch, etc.), but there are some neat ones that I would like to visit.

I live about 2 hours away from Kauffman Stadium(KC Royals), so I get to see quite a few Royals games.

BTW: Very neat pictures. Your guys got excellent seats!

Lucky bum, the only Major League places I have been to are Tiger Stadium, and Comerica.  Well, technically I've been to SkyDome too, but that was just a tour, I didn't get to see a game.

Another friend and I went back out there for another game this week... same seats as last time.  I'll post a couple of pics soon, hopefully.

Skydome? I believe you mean "Roger's Centre". Personally I liked Skydome better.

Tongue  Yeah, you're right... but it was SkyDome when I toured it, and besides, I forgot what it's new name was.

Here's some pics from the Tiger's game that I went to earlier this week.  My friend and I basically had the same seats as the game I went to a couple of weeks ago, just one row closer this time.

Craig Monroe taking a swing.

Nate Robertson pitching.

Placido Polonco at bat.

There were some big (tall big, not fat big, lol) people in front of me, so they made it difficult to get many shots, and when I did, I couldn't get the focus too well, which is why these ones are sort of blurry.
