DUDE, definitely rent the first season disk one.. and watch the first 4 episodes. If you are not hooked after that, no money wasted. If you are hooked.. get all 4 seasons and watch them in order. Season 5 (aka Day 5) is airing this January 2006. I was absolutely addicted to that show on DVD.. I watched 8 episodes in a row one time, and then 4 more the next day. I call that show visual crack.

Here's some Season 5 news to whet your appetite for it.
Returning in season 5: Jack, Tony, Audrey, Curtis, Chloe, Bill Buchanan PRESIDENT Logan. Yes, that's right. Apparently, Keeler is no longer the President. Hmm.
New faces this season, the most recognizable one being Sean Astin, better known for his role as a certain Samwise Gamgee in a certain fantasy film that came out a few years ago (HINT: Lord of the Rings). He'll be a CTU agent named Lynn McGill. And, appearing in at least the first episode: Palmer, Michelle, and Mike Novick.
New crew additions include David Fury and Manny Coto. Fury was a writer for LOST, who wrote the episode "Walkabout" (the one where we first find out about Locke, where it's revealed he was in a wheelchair). Coto was a writer and executive producer for Star Trek: Enterprise near the end of its run.
The gap of time between Day 4 and Day 5 will be shorter than the normal 18 months. Also, Day 5 will be more affected by Day 4 than other season have been by the preceding seasons.
And, yes, 24 has already been picked up for Day 6.
Oh yeah. Right here is a little teaser trailer for Day 5. Looks awexome.

It returns?
Great. As long as it doesn't come on on Tuesday, it's okay. That way, I can still watch NCIS and House, M.D. I don't know what I'd do if 24 came on on Tuesday.

LOL. That's funny, seeing how House is on in 24's old timeslot. But, no, it'll be on Mondays at 9 PM. Which means, yes, Prison Break is in 24's time slot. But, they will be ending the season before 24. Hopefully they can get the DVD of it out soon, so I can see what all the fuss is about this show.
BTW, here's a teaser for Season 5. Looks awexome. Can't wait for it.

No worries, Lufis, 24 will be on Monday at 9.
Here's a website with some info and pics, but I'll put the pics in this post anyways.

Very nice pick of Jack.

Yet another one. I have to say, the shorter hair actually works for Jack.

Odd to see Samwise without hobbit ears, curly hair, or hobbit feet, but hey, looks nice none the less. I don't think I'll be able to actually be used to seeing Sean Astin on 24 until I've actually seen him on 24.

Nice to see Curtis again.

Hmm. Probably the most feminine I've ever seen Chloe. Well, that girl jacket she wore in the second half of 24 comes close, but this is flowers on her jacket and girl shirts. Strange to see Chloe actually looking like a girl. Hopefully she won't change her personality though.

Nice profile of Edgar. Looks like he may have lost a little weight.

Ah, Audrey. The first love interest of Jack's to not get killed off. Oh, wait, there was Kate. Still, definitely one to remember. Can't wait to see how the Audrey-Jack-Diane triangle plays out.

TONY! Ah, so nice to see Tony. Probably my second favorite character, after Jack himself of course. And, of course, with his Cubs mug.

Ah, President Logan. The guy who did NOTHING to try to stop his Secret Service agent from killing Jack last season. Yes, he's now the President. Wonder if Keeler died.

She plays First Lady Martha Logan. She was on some "Designing Women" show. At least, according to what my mom told me. I think I remember one episode, and she had this Southern accent. Don't know if they'll have her get rid of it, but personally, I hope they do. I think she was also in Homeward Bound. She'll probably be one of the ones pushing Logan to terminate Jack.

Ah, yes, Buchanan. The Division liason that actually listened to Jack, unlike Chapelle. Yes, I "mourned" Chapelle's death, but Buchanan is much better.

Here's that "other woman" I was talking about, Diane. Attractive, yes, but just like the site says, I wonder how long she'll last.

Here's the son of Diane. According to the site, his name is Derek. Hmm. Looks like Mxyzptlk from season 4 of Smallville.

So nice to see Jack again. Like the site says, it's nice to see he hasn't lost his gun.
That's all I got for now. Remember, season 5 of 24 begins Sunday, January 15 at 8:00 PM EST on FOX.

WIN. The only thing on on Monday is... nothing. I don't like Prisonbreak or anything else on Mondays right now, for that matter.

Man, I forgot this thread was here.
I just got hooked onto 24 recently. Amazing. I've watched about half of season 1, which got me an addict. I also watched about the last two episode of season four, but I forgot when. Well, looks like anakinjmt was wrong about the first lady. She, infact, is the exact oppisite practically. I still can't get over Sean Austin being on 24. Everytime I see him I think of that soliloquy he said in the Two Towers. Anyways, his character seems pretty suspicious. But, he could be just that he is new to this. But I could be wrong....*shifty eyes* I wonder what they are going to do with Wult Cunnings (is it Cunnings or Cummings?). I mean there are so many ways the writers could take this plot with. So people, what is all you're thoughts?

It's "Cummings."
Yeah, pretty crazy season so far. I don't even want to guess what happens next, because I'll probably be way off. Is it just me, or is Logan not one of the brightest crayons in the box? Plus, now his wife's mad at him; I wonder how he's going to get out of that...

Stupid spelling....
I bet he is going to somehow going to go agaisnt CTU and do something that ruins the entire plot....but that is my guess.

Yeah, I gotta admit I was wrong about Martha Logan. Jean Smart does really well as that character. My whole family last night was going, "What? What is he (Cummings) trying to do?" 'Bout time Logan got rid of him finally.

*Looks around*
*Bump*
For the few 24 fans that apparently hang out here, what'd you think of the two hour block last night? Especially the killing off, shall we say, a character we've gotten to know fairly well. I know in that last minute I had my hand covering my mouth going "Omigosh, omigosh, omigosh, omigosh" over and over and over. I was in shock.

Oh, yeah, that was unexpected, but good. I was, like, "OMG, s/he's not going to make it", and then, sure enough, all the other principal characters make it, but not him/her.
What about this next episode? Apparently, someone else is going to go down. Wonder who it'll be?
