I might as well submit my idea for the possible future layout of the forum:

Main Category
    * News
    * Secrets
    * Sightings

Support Category
    * Questions
    * Suggestions
    * New Members

Various
    * A General Discussion area (currently "The Pit")
              *Subcategories: Media (Music, TV, Books, Video Games), Technology (Computers, technology in general)
    * Forum Games
    * Fanart
    * Fanfiction (no e-mail subcategory, only 3 e-mail threads at once, all pinned)

And thus, making the forum smaller and easier to navigate.

Also, might I say this: In the near future, posts in the general discussion forums should be added to the post count. Even if they are away from the topic of the forum, and even if they may be irrelevent, the person bothered posting it, and therefore it should be shown that the member actually posted it. There could be someone that talks with people in the general discussion sections and occasionally reviews a cartoon or posts a sighting / fanwork / whatever, and that person would only have like, 50 posts overall when they originally made more than a hundred in the general sections. So, you kind of get what I'm going at here. Even though most of the posts are in the "CGN Thread" and may be irrelevant, you don't have to leave the people who actually post worthwhile things out.

CGN is a random thread and always will be, hence the name Crazy Go Nuts. If you want a non random general discussion threads then ask the mods.

It was just sarcasm, my God. You don't need to blow a gasket over it.

Non-random general discussion threads will pop up, eventually. And why should I ask the mods for a thread to be made...? You need to stop being so paranoid, Gir. I know you've been saying I'm "Edge", just because I maybe act like him, so do a lot of people. And Phish and the Dead are actually pretty popular bands, so you just need to cool it.

Amon, you had my support up until the point where you said there would only be three email threads. That, and the next paragraph, brought the whole thing a lot downhill. There should five email threads, so that four members can have email threads, plus depressio.

The reason we have the post count turned off for the off-topic sections is because the post count shows how active members are. But it doesn't really help the life of our forum if the only place we are active is in the off-topic sections. So we encourage members to post more in the Homestar sections, or, just as good, the fanstuff sections (flash, drawings, etc.).

But, I  don't really see it helping, now that all the immature members are better, we don't really care about post count much.

It also shows how active you are in a whole.

Erm. Why doesn't Depressio count as a member?

Additionally, I believe that the perfect setup is fine. There shouldn't be a limit to how many e-mail threads there can be at a time.

I really don't think Depressio would want special priveleges. He's not the type to abuse any sort of powers. Not to speak for him, I just think that if there's going to be 4-5 email threads, all the spots should be fair game for everyone.

Well, I just seem to remember that in the past, Depressio was pretty much impervious to the 20-email limit, since he was the first person to have an email thread. But that's up to the Mods.

You know what would be cool? If we started saying "Mod Squad". It rhymes!

I know you've been saying I'm "Edge", just because I maybe act like him, so do a lot of people. And Phish and the Dead are actually pretty popular bands, so you just need to cool it.

Then how come you have the same computer, OS, used to have the same text under an avatar, compared to the HCC, "I love Yabb" etc, both have see through Apple related avatars, and you know who I am even though the last time you posted before you came was in 2003, before I even joined, and you know I'm random even though I haven't made a random post in a while. It had to be said. Sorry.

Anyways I do agree with your layout. I feel the sections do need to be merged. And I do agree with what stinkoman is saying except for one thing. Sadmails are bit more special than the other threads, but, for it to be fair there should be 6 threads all together, so 5 others can get threads. Thank you for considering this.

"I love yaBB" is the default usertext for back when Amon and Edge joined. That's no link.

No, that's not what I meant. Edge used the "I Love Yabb" text on another forum, and his text was different before, and then Amon did the same thing. Either you're Edge or you really like to copy him.

Well, either way, he's not doing any harm right now, so how about ya leave him alone?

Okay. I will.

Anyways, I think we need to add several sub sections to video games, kind of like on HCC. Their would be console games, handheld games, PC games and classic (old) games. Tell me what you think.

I'd personally be in favor of doing some slight re-arranging, as well as possibly making posts in off topic sections count.

That all depends on who gets the reins after bhz reaches a verdict.

I personally am in favor of all of Amon's words.
