Now, as I said, I don't want to be rude but, I have been pretty frustrated when you delete words that aren't swear words. here are some real examples: 1. A classic book by Herman Melville about a whale, 2. a famous english director who directed such classic suspense/ thrillers like Rear Window, and most ridiculously (and recently), 3. a character from Oliver twist who is a man who takes care of Oliver and teaches him to be a pickpocket.

Now, do you know what he names of these things are? I understand #1, and even #2 (though less) but #3 is completely rediculous. What's next? deleting Edward Hardwicke's last name?

Nobody deletes the words its just that there is a curse filter and it autmatically deletes a curse word when somebody types one in. so all those words are considered curse words by the swear filter so it automatically deletes them.

Well, the mods don't actually go through everybody's posts and delete bad words, you know. There's a program that automatically baleets every instance of certain letters in a certain order. So, if those letters are in the middle of a perfectly normal word, then too bad. I'm not sure whether or not there's a function that allows you to make exceptions, though.

If anybody wishes to correct me, go right on ahead.

What has been said is true... there is a filter software on the forum, and it has a defult set of words listed on it.  Admins have the ability to add/remove words from it... but as we don't really have an Admin right now, that list is stuck as is for the time  being.

Wow, you completely missed my point. I was saying NOBODY can really be banned as of right now considering there are no admins.

But in order to turn off this filter we need an admin. So when the ability to abuse swearing is turned on, there'll be someone who can punish the abusers.
