I never used armor I just played with a mask and gun.  I think if you just played with the gun it costs about 10 bucks and you can wear the mask for free I think.

Wow. You must either be good, rich, or wear ratty cloths to games, then. How do avoid paint splatter, then?

Also, I doubt I'd want to be hit by a paintball without armor of some kind. Those balls looks like they're pretty high velocity. One of those hitting you... I can't imagine that doesn't hurt.

No I wore old army clothes that my dad had and yes they are pretty fast but all paintball places have a certain amount of FPS (Feet Per Second) that is required.  Most are around 350 FPS and yes it does it hurt.  It can leave bruises if you are close and it will leave smaller ones farther away.

Bruises.. oh yes... I had a bruise that lasted several months once, lol.  But it's more of a battle wound; a bragging right, so to speak, as twisted as that sounds.

I really only used to play speedball/airball, so you're pretty close anyway, but dang, it's pretty fun if you play with the right people.  Unfortunately most of the guys that work out at our field are extremely arrogant and annoying, so I don't go out there anymore.

I don't like playing speedball it is too quick.  I like playing in the woods where you have a good chance to not get hit.
