Harry Potter is the greatest thing to ever happen to this pitiful little planet, your thoughts?

Books = supreme. Movies = not so much. I'll probably still see the fourth movie, but after the third was, in my opinion, completely botched, I don't have very high hopes for it.

Yeah the third one wasn't very good, the director wanted to cut even more out of but J.K. Rowling stepped in and said he couldn't.

I like books. The movies are okay but I do prefer the books. Even though they are pretty long.

I didn't plan on seeing the new movie in theaters, as my form of protest. However, my stepfather wishes to go, so we may as well all see it together. I am not, however, excited about it. The books, on the other hand, are awesome. 'nuff said, right?

I was hoping to see it in a couple of days.  The Director from the first 3 movies isn't the one who directed this.  He's different.  So it might just be better.

I'll probably see the movie this Saturday. We never see movies on Fridays, and I can wait to see it.

I didn't know this one had a different director..I noticed it's rated PG-13 now though..I don't remember the book all too much..why is it PG-13?

I didn't like the first movie at all, but I love the second one and I wish I owned the third. I agree, the books are more enjoyable than the movies, but I sometimes watch the movies and completely overanalyze them.

Hey, I've never seen that movie, but I know the quote. +5 for you. Oh yeah, I like the books better, too.

I'm seeing it on Friday with my friends if we can get plans together in time. I have no idea why it's rated PG-13, but Mad-Eye Moody looks really weird compared to how I imagined him.

Yeah I don't like how they made him look, in my mind he appeared a lot more grizzly and scary.

JACK IS BACK! 1-11-09 on FOX

The books are incredible, and they get better with every book. HBP especially has got to be, along with OoTP and GOF one my favorite HP books. Movie one was okay, movie 2 was the same, but with movie 3 they really did a great job I thought. Yes, they changed some things, but it's like with the LOTR movies; they had to cut somewhere. I'm really excited for movie 4; the trailers have gotten me all pysched up for it. I do wish though we could see more of the Quidditch World Cup, but we'll get to see the 3 tasks, which will be awexome. Plus, I can't wait to see the Yule Ball. One of my favorite sections of the book, and I am curious as to how Hermoine will look there. I don't care much for the longer hair styles for Harry and Ron; I liked their hair from Azkaban better, but the story will be solid which is good enough for me.

As for why it's PG-13, it's because you've got the dragons in Task 1, the merpeople and the grindylows in Task 2, and the different creatures in the maze in Task 3, along with the rebirth sequence of Voldemort in the graveyard and the following fight. Not to mention that the tone of the story is much darker than it was in Azkaban.

Oh, and just so you know, Movie 1 and 2 were directed by Chris Columbus, and 3 by Alfonso Cuaron. 4 is Mike Newell.

I heard they had to cut the Yule Ball scene out of this movie. Not certain, though.

Well, I heard that Harry had non-green dress robes in this movie, so I assume there's the Yule Ball.

I'm really looking forward to the next movie, although whenever I see a picture of Mad-Eye Moody, I scream in frustration on the inside.

I personally think that, while the books are excellently written and the movies well-constructed, the fourth movie doesn't deserve it's rating of 8.5/10 while much more original and amazing (Wallace and Gromit: Curse of the Were-Rabbit) are getting ratings like 8.0 and 7.9). I'm getting the suspicion people are just rating the HP movies 10 because, well, they're HP movies :/
