I haven't read Fountainhead. "Atlas Shrugged" was the first book of hers I read, and I loved it. I read all 1000+ pages in under a month, which was a pretty big accomplishment for me because generally I'm a slow reader (even though I read a lot of books, it takes me like 2 minutes to read a page while my friends say it takes them like 30 seconds.) I later read Anthem, and enjoyed that one a ton, too.

I am currently in the process of reading Fountainhead. I will say, her romance scenes strike me as odd to say the least, and slow-going. But I stand by that I love her philosophy and reading some character speeches really inspires me. Inspires me to what? I dunno.

Really? I'm getting it from the library cause I've heard it's sad but over-all good. ((Plus I like the song based on it performed by Fleming and John. ((Sorry I could only find a bootleg.))

Alright, so what other works of hers have you read? I'm finding Fountainhead to be a glorified version of Anthem with the same basic moral, just told from the point of before we lose our identities instead of after. It's about an individualist in a world that wants to destroy him unless he becomes like everyone else.

And Atlas Shrugged just plain rocked. It's about America in the process of becoming communist and why that, you know, would suck.

Golden Compass. Enough said.

I hardly think that's enough said at all. You know that's just the first in a trilogy, right? Why didn't you like it?

I know it's the first, and it's convinced me not to read any of the other books ever, unless my life (or grade) depended on it.

Reasons:

1. Boring story that goes nowhere.
2. Explains absolutley nothing about the characters and who they are, just expects you to know them from the start.
3. Few Major events in the story: Campus, Boat, Bears, Kidnapped, Escaped, Wants You to Buy the Next Book. That's it.
4. Too much dialog that goes nowhere.
5. Not too much description. I saw about 5 adjectives throughout the entire book.

In sumination it sucks.

Heh, alright. I haven't read the book in 7 years, I just remember enjoying the overall trilogy. I just prompted you on because I don't think this thread is being used to full potential if you don't explain anything about why you don't like a book.

Ellen Foster would have to be the most boring, lack-of-plot book there is.  Pretty terrible.   You Or Your Post Is Dead...

The Education of Little Tree. Hands down the worst book ever written, and should be destroyed immediately.
