Dragonlance
« on: January 12, 2006, 07:59:12 pm »

Yo, yo, yo, what up my heezies. I'm here in my crib startin a blingin' post about the pimpinest fantasy series this side o' the hood, Dragonlance.

This series has literally hundreds of books in it...with dozens of different contributing authors all adding to the story of the world of Krynn. It's got all the good stuff: Elves, Dwarves, Dragons, magic, swords, but it's not just your generic Lord of the Rings rip-off. The characters have amazing depth and backgrounds that really draw you into the books.

If you're interested, the first trilogy is Dragons of Autumn Twilight, Dragons of Winter Night, and Dragons of Spring Dawning. From there is the Twins trilogy, Time of the Twins, War of the Twins, Test of the Twins. Those are the six "core" books, and after that you can pretty much go anywhere. The world is split into three distinct time-zones, though, each with it's own starting books you should read so you know how the world got there. But if you're into this kinda thing, or even if you're not, the books are fan-freaking-tastic. Mmhmm.

There is one thing seriously lacking from that series and it is stories about famous/notable mages. To sign the petition against this infraction visit the website in my signature.
