I'll start. My favorite artist is Dr. John, my favorite CD is Blue Train by John Coltrane, and it's my favorite type of music.

 *COUGH* <.< Major bumpage.

So, I've recently (like in the past year) gotten into jazz fusion and progressive jazz, specifically Mahavishnu and Jeff Beck, with Blow by Blow being a favorite album of mine. Although many might disagree by saying things like "Buckethead is metal/experimental rock/what have you", another one of my favorite jazz albums is his Electric Tears album.

Jazz gets a lot of hate for whatever reason, with the whole, "It's boring, sleepy-time background elevator music that old people listen to," which is what I thought until I heard the Jerry Goodman and Jan Hammer CD, "Like Children", which I was then turned on to John Abercrombie's album, "Timeless", which I can never listen to the whole thing of because I keep getting intoxicated by the first cut, which is amazing, and I'm sure the rest of the album is too...

Return to Forever is another great group, my favorite RtF song is "Vulcan Worlds" from their "Where Have I Known You Before" album.

And Acoustic Alchemy are always a favorite of mine. So Kylie is just such a catchy song, and really easy to remember lyrics. "Lalalalala, lalalalala, lalalalalalalaaaaaaaaaaaa..."

Though one might argue that none of that is actually jazz. >.>

When someone mentions jazz, I instantly think of this song:

<a href="http://www.youtube.com/v/XvyLUfEZIfY" target="_blank">http://www.youtube.com/v/XvyLUfEZIfY</a>

Wes Montgomery will now and forever be my favorite jazz guitarist, and maybe my favorite jazz musician ever.
