I dunno, I think after what happened at the US Grand Prix in 2005, F1 is dead in America.

For those not familier with what happened in '05, there was a problem with the tires that over half of the cars used, where they'd literally explode, due to the G-forces the cars experienced on the race course.  Due to this, many drivers thought it was too unsafe to race, and after the first warmup lap on race day, they pulled off the course, and sat the race out.  This left only 6 cars left to do the race (normally there are about 22 cars that compete in a race), which cheesed off the fans, needless to say.

I was at a Detroit Tigers game shortly after this happened, and outside of Comerica Park there was a car that had a rather humerous message about the race written on the back window.  I'd post it here, but due to language rules I can't.  So, I guess if you want to see that, just send me a PM, and I'll get it to you.

Heh, wasn't the Grand Prix in Indy in '05? I faintly remember something along those lines. But anyway, F1 racing is dead in America. Long live NASCAR.

Although, those Formula One racing cars look freakin' sleek.

Yeah, the most recent version of the US Grand Prix has been going on in Indy for the past few years.  Prior to that it was run in Phoenix, and Detroit, in the 1970's and 1980's.  I think they did run another US Grand Prix in Indy this year, just a couple of weeks ago, actually, I think I saw something flash by on my ESPN bottom Line, actually.  The funny thing is, if they did, there was NO press about it at all, no TV coverage, not really anything.

The last "race" I saw was the movie "Cars."

Well, the Grand Prix is going to be hosted once again in my hometown of Indianapolis, Indiana. Proving once again, that there is more than corn in Indiana... there's really fast cars, too.
