Yes, fellows, you've seen it on the ticker, you've heard tell of it from various sources, but you've probably discounted it all as rumor. Well, friends, I am here to tell you that the ticker is right, the sources are true, and this is no longer mere rumor.
This is...
THE SECOND E-MAIL COLLABORATION
This has been thought out extensively by myself, and all we need now are e-mail writers. Now, please, fellows, this is not like the other E-mail collaboration. In fact, the term "collaboration" is somewhat misleading. This is a COMPETITION, which will be done in a collaboratory fashion. Instead on working on one toon, with various e-mail threads coming together to engage in one plot, all competitors will be using ORIGINAL, NEVER BEFORE SEEN characters.
This competition is open to the public, but the deadline to sign up will be NEXT FRIDAY, MARCH 10th! Offers are based not only on a first come first serve basis, but also on merit. We want people who are at least semi-literate, here, so you will have to provide a small list of writings that you have done as a sort of resume. Of course, I've already seen what some of you can do, so quite a few of you have the edge up. Still, once the deadline, MARCH 10th is reached, OR IF EIGHT (8) APPLICANT ARE SELECTED BEFORE THAT TIME, the thread will be posted and all other applications will be denied.
However, since this is a competition, there has to be a way to compete, right? Well, that's when you, the forumite, come in! Each round, so to speak, there will be a poll on which e-mail was better than all the rest. All e-mails will be edited to fit the Darkshadows E-mails formatting style, so you will not be able to tell who collaborators are simply by format. Vote for which one was funnier, more dramatic, or just embodied your personal view on what an e-mail thread should be.
To spice it up, each e-mail round will have certain length requirements and word usage prerequisites, among others. This is a key part of the competition, as obstacles such as these often come up in real life competitions, as well.
Eventually, there will be one e-mailer standing. When this occurs, s/he will finish one last e-mail. Then, I will finish up the whole thread, tying up any loose ends and hopefulla answering all questions about the contents of the thread.
I hope that this effort will bring some zest back into this section, and maybe some newcomers will get a taste of what it takes to make it here week after week!
Until next week, then, chaps.
-Luf
Oh, one last note: This thread is strictle for DISCUSSING the upcoming collaboration. DO NOT DECLARE YOUR WISH TO JOIN HERE. THAT IS A PRIME WAY TO GET YOU DENIED. Instead, PM me, or hit up my e-mail addy. I would, of course, prefer a PM, but hey, whatever floats your e-boat.
