Right now, I'm reading Crisis On Infinite Earths, the big crossover universe-changing (literally!) event DC Comics did in 1985 to get rid of its convoluted back story and history, so that instead of there being multiple Earths and multiple versions of superheroes, there's only one Earth and one universe, and for the most part, only one version of each superhero (Flash and Green Lantern being the exceptions, and Kal-L and Lois of Earth-2 and Superboy-Prime hidden away in a pocket universe). It's really good, and when I'm done, I'll start on Infinite Crisis, which DC did in 2006 which is the sequel to COIE.

I went from having nothing to read to having too much. I'm assigned to read The Secret Lives of Sgt. John Wilson for English which, despite being a tale of true crime murder, war, disease, and betrayal, is boring beyond all reason. I also have the first two books of Stephen King's The Dark Tower series to get through, as my brother is a huge fan of the series and is pushing it on me. The same is also true with Tuesdays with Morrie, as my brother has been pushing for me to read the book for months and I finally started. Then, on the complete opposite side of the serious scale, I have The Areas of My Expertise by John Hodgman, which I am already laughing at even though I am only a few pages in. He has such a unique sense of humour that never seems to fail.

Well, I'm set for the next 3 months or so...

I checked out a ton of books over Christmas break from my local library, and I'm trying to get through all of them before I go back to school. I'm currently reading Avenger, by William Shatner, which is a Star Trek novel, which is a sequel to his book The Return, which takes place right after Star Trek: Generations dealing with him being brought back to life by the Borg and used by the Romulans to try to destroy the Federation from a Romulan-Borg alliance. Avenger deals with a virogen which is bringing the Federation to its knees. I've read it before, but I'd forgotten how good it was.

I just read South of the Pumphouse by Les Claypool which was pretty weird and definitely not safe for children.  Now I am reading On The Road by Jack Kerouac.

I'm reading "Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency" by Douglas Adams for use in a book report-ish project. Apparently I'm going to have to write poetry about this book. Great.

Moby-Dick for school.

Sweeeeeeeet.

Everyone in the class has to, according to a schedule, give a presentation over like four different chapters.  Wish me me and ET luck.

The Great Gatsby for English. This is honestly one of the best books I've ever read. It took me right out of my slump.

Star Trek: Tales of the Dominion War. A bunch of short stories set during the Dominion War which occured during DS9, which covers various areas of the Trek world, from the bridge of the Enterprise-E to the Romulan Empire to a Klingon ship to what various people introduced in other books were doing to the capture of Betazed by the Dominion. Very good so far.
