Crazy Go Nuts. It's a thread in The Bottomless Spirit Pit. It is insanely popular because there are far less rules there than anywhere else. While the general "don't be a jerk" "don't post innapropriate material" rules still apply, there is no topic. It's basically for people to spam for whatever reason they feel the need to. It can be fun sometimes. Other times it's simply painful.

Yes, and every once in a while, a CGN name thread opens in the Popular Vote thread. People suggest 10 names and then people vote on the names. The winning name becomes the name of the next CGN thread.

This of course is a new feature, where mods used to pick the CGN name. Your lucky you joined now. It's a lot cooler. I've been here since '04, and I've never had as many rights on this forum as I do now.

CGN, contrary to popular belief, is not a place for spam. Well, it shouldn't be a place for spam. It used to be a thread for everything that didn't fit in the other sections of the forum. Then the Bottomless Pit was introduced, a section for everything that didn't fit in the other sections of the forum. Although this helped in having more focused off-topic topics, such as the Serious Discussion about Religion, this sort of made the CGN a lot less meaningful. You can still find some worthy posts in the CGN, but they are few and far between. Most of the content that would be placed in the CGN have gotten their own topics. This last CGN (they last about 20-30 pages) has been one of the worst and I would steer clear of it if I were you. Wait for the new one to be posted shortly. Let us hope that it will be better.

Good news, everyone!

Contrary to what Alexisofire just said, the CGN Thread is the place for spam: it just should be SMART spam. Spelled right, tactfully played out, all that garbage. But, as you may find, it almost never works like that.
It's a wonderous place for quoting outside material and making lasting friendships. ^_^
No, really, it's all spam. And we'd love to have you.

... O RLY? Yeah, CGN is basically a dump for offtopic discussion that don't seem to belong anywhere else, and nowadays, just for spilling out randomity. As with tradition, I've never EVER posted in it in the about 2 1/2 years I've been here.

I accidentally allowed 1/4 of my posts to originate from CGN threads. You don't want that to happen.

Bah. All YTMNDs. I like the O RLY owl, though. As for all the rest of them, they belong in YTMNDs. http://rhpoke.ytmnd.com/

Oh, and make "Objections" about how dumb "Objections" are. People really love those!
