JACK IS BACK! 1-11-09 on FOX

It's not that I'm impatient; it's just again, there's been times I have to wait 5 minutes before posting again, and for some threads (such as the revived picture war and Good Idea/Bad Idea), if you can't post due to IP time limit, it may be too late. Plus, I tend to think of things to say right away, and I typically forget what I'm going to say 5 minutes after I think about it, just to other things being on my mind. That's my only issue.

That's why I don't like the picture war thread, because it doesn't have anything to do with Homestar, which made the other one interesting, and it always pushed the threads that I want to read and are interesting to me down.

Yeah, to fall off the subject for a second, I think the new/old one way is better, because nobody wanted to play the Homestar variation. There aren't an enormous amount of (picture war) quality Homestar pictures on the internet, and it's not worth the time of uploading your own picture. Besides, how many active threads are there in the pit to be pushed down? Like, three. And one of those is about to die, as it's all about the heigh of forum members (we can only go around saying "dang, you're tall/midgetesque" for so long).

Ah, I see. Is this just a glitch in the timer, and if so, can it be fixed?

I don't think it's a glitch necessairly, I think it's just the way it's designed to work.

It gets sort of annoying when you're reading the forum and you're not logged in, and you want to reply to a post, and when you log in you have to wait (usually) over 60 seconds to post.

But it's not enough for me to want it disabled completely.

Why don't you just change it to 30 seconds?

It's not often, but sometimes I want to make a post and then change it, but I don't want the Last edited to be there, so I delete and repost.  But then I have to wait.  Or if I just happen to come up two good posts within a minute of each other.  I've never seen any other forum with such a long flood filter, and I think shortening it a little will solve everyone's problems.

I hate it when you have something in your mind, but you can't post it because of this and then you forget it. No you don't need to post once every minute, but it can be annoying to those who don't too. And when you first log in and it won't let you post anything for like 20 minutes, that's horrible.

Type the post, copy it and paste it once the time limit has passed.  And don't give any bullcrap about having to wait 20 minutes after logging in to post.  I logged in not even a minute ago, and am making this post.

If you feel that strongly about something like this, I'd be interested in knowing how you feel about something you don't like that is a bit more important.

I don't feel strongly about this. I'm just saying it's annoying. It's called complaining. And sometimes it does take up to 5 minutes. I've timed it before out of boredom. And the 20 minutes, that's exageration if you haven't noticed. Do all my posts really need to be torn to shreds? I'm just stating what I think. You can say what you think about my idea, but making fun of a person is another thing. And when "razr3d" said the exact same thing I said in different words, nobody seemed to notice.

Whoa thar killer.  I think that this discussion has gone on long enough.  I'm putting this thread in time out.

We've changed the IP timer, but getting rid of it makes life difficult if an abusive user does come on.

I proclaim this thread Lickity Lackity LOCK'd!
