Super Smash Bros Brawl

My goal this weekend is to play five chars who look cool, but whom I haven't given much attention to this game: Meta Knight, Marth, Ganondorf, Captain Falcon, and Ike. If anyone's going to be around and looking for a match, let me know. I only have my wii friday night to sunday afternoon, so you've gotta act fast.

So, my thoughts on this.

Meta Knight: I can't play him. He looks incredibly cool, many others I know claim that they can always whoop people with him, but I just can't seem to get the hang of him. I dunno what it is. Bah.

Marth: Whereas, like Meta Knight, I previously did not see the big deal about Marth, I've now become a huge fan of his (sigh, I know). I think it all came down to  finally understanding how to use his side+B. And he's kinda hot. Y'know...in a feminine kind of way.

Ganondorf: Also became a huge fan of this guy. Using his side+B to people currently off the stage is incredibly amusing.

Captain Falcon: Not bad, but it feels like he got a big tone downwards, while Ganondorf got a tone upwards. Ah well..

Ike: OH. MY. GOD. Seriously, actually trying to play as Ike, I did not die. ONCE. Like, I just repeatedly killed people, over and over again. I almost feel bad, and, like, want to avoid playing him, for fairness sake.

Yeah, from what I've played of the two, it seems that Falcon is a lot worse than in melee (for no reason whatsoever) and Ganondorf, while probably a bit slower and bulkier, just seems better overall. Although his character model is absolutely dreadful.

Ike: OH. MY. GOD. Seriously, actually trying to play as Ike, I did not die. ONCE. Like, I just repeatedly killed people, over and over again. I almost feel bad, and, like, want to avoid playing him, for fairness sake.

Ike is a Beast. No other way of putting it.

And he's kinda hot. Y'know...in a feminine kind of way.

Oh boy... this is embarrassing... umm... you do know that Fox is bad, right? I'm surprised no one told you. No need to fear, though. Wolf is just like Fox, except good, so the transition between those isn't so bad. I can't say the same about the transition from ROB to... anyone... which is also essential.

I kid. If you can play as ROB well, then I guess you're a good player. And if you can play as Fox well, then I guess you can play as Wolf better. Switch to Wolf! Switch to Wolf! He has fun with things!

Well, that is your opinion, not fact. There are characters that are naturally better than others, but you shouldn't swear by them. I personally prefer fox over his two clones. Although, for my playstyle, they are all dreaded choices.

And seriously, ROB is the worst character in the game. Useless. All of his attacks do 1%. Luigi's taunt is more powerful.

I hope you're being sarcastic. If not, that's probably one of the most idiotic things I've ever heard.

From what I've seen, people who say one character is better than another is if they like special attacks or smash attacks more.

For example, ROB's B attacks are not very powerful (which is probably where Alexis is...is... coming from), but his smash attacks are pretty good. Personally, I like smash attacks more than specials, and I use ROB on occasion. Ever notice how his forward B is a reflector? It's good to catch people off guard if they don't know about it. (Not sure how many do, but I found it surprising).

I really need to practice with R.O.B. and Meta Knight.
I've seen a few people who are ridiculously good with them (especially the latter), but I don't quite know how to use them. For the most part, each of their B attacks seem pretty worthless in comparison with smashes.

I'm alright with Ike, but Wolf and Marth are really my "I need to stop using them because I'm beating people so badly" characters.

I fought a really good ROB player, and I literally had absolutely no "safe" spots to go during the fight. If he wasn't lasering me, he was charging up the Down+B or attacking me with his non-environmentally-friendly exhaust.

ROB is so awesome, he can convert adjectives into verbs instantly. For example: "ROB can scary anyone he wants with his exhaust."

Obviously, you guys missed what I was trying to do there. I was criticizing BHC for voicing his opinion as fact, one that is not the truth, just an opinion. I then used my own opinion (that ROB is the worst character in the game just by the fact that he is in there) and blew it out of proportion. For comedic value.

You can't forget about aerials, which is why I find Kirby and Lucario so appealing. In fact, Lucario's playstyle is completely about juggling people with his aerial, running a, and up tilt, and catching people off guard with a down smash, close range side-b (which, if you didn't know, turns into a throw with one of the highest knockbacks in his moveset), and making short jumps to pull off a quick down aerial.

And throwing is another big appeal for characters, especially Dedede and Ice Climbers. Dedede I have pretty much got his chain grabbing down, but Ice Climbers I still have trouble with sometimes.

AoF reminds me about how not-hardcore I am.  Sometimes, I get to thinking that I'm pretty good at Brawl.  Then I realize all I do is play Break the Targets and practice smashing with Fox.  I never grab, and, though juggling is basically all I do with anyone, I could never speak about it in an informed way.
