The web comic, VG Cats, makes numerous references to homestarrunner.com even linking to the site itself. Stuff like "USS," "jorb," answering an e-mail on the Compy, and others. I can't link to the site because of the language and occasional violence/gore.

Uh, it means "United States Ship" and is put before the name of a boat to designate that it is owned by the United States Government.

USS is from the Homestarrunner.com Welcome video.
USS refers to a ship; I don't think we can quite attribute that one to homestar. USS [insert witty phrase here] jokes have been around for quite some time. EDIT: Dagnabit! Beat to the punch. I guess I shoulda paid attention when it said that a new post was posted, haha. |

Just because there are Dell laptops doesn't mean that when someone mentions a laptop, they're referring to Dell laptops (yeah, I know, kinda weak reference, but it gets the point across).
