"Thou who shalt killst threads" Award

This one would actually work as an award, as there are definitely some people that would win it. However, it could be looked at as more of a Razzie award (which you really don't want to win). Still, it would be amusing to see who people thought earned this award.

I would love to see another BHZ awards again. They were cool. Though, I'm pretty sure AoF would win Forum Fanboy again, judging by his pwnage in Saturday night's Video Game Jeopardy.

I also believe anyone who won last year cannot be nominated for the same category.  It's not fair if they're going to just win again. Give other people a chance.  They can be nominated for other awards, though.  Why doesn't a super mod or somebody do this instead of potthole having to bare the weight of the whole award show?  All potthole really has to do is change the title of the people that win.

Or why don't we all work together to do this, rather than assume that only somebody with bigger stars can do it? Plus, I think any super-mod can change titles. But I could be wrong.

These here are my thoughts on all the categories that we've done and that Pokehomsar suggested.

Forum Techie We should probably lose it. Although, did we have all the off-topic sections last year? The Nerd section may shed light on who is really the most tech-savvy

Coolest Forum Section Eh.... if we decide not to nominate previous winners, then we could do this, but If not, the pit will probably win

Biggest Forum Moment Oh, fer sure.

Man of Many Words I don't know. It doesn't seem like there have been too many speeches, but I'd like to see what you guys think.

Official Forum Fanboy Maybe we should drop the "official." But the award is fine

Most Exciting Forum Game Eh. 'kay.

Most Off Topic Topic Yeah, it still works. And a lot of contenders can probably be found.

Smiley Award I think we all kinda matured, and I don't think there's really anybody to choose. Maybe one or two people, but I still question the value of this one.

Forum DJ I see no real problem with this.

Human DictionaryNobody really defines things... maybe we can change this to something to do with grammar.

Silence is GoldenWell, there really is only one person who isn't quite regular and isn't quite lurker, so I doubt we should use this.

"Thou who shalt killst threads" AwardMaybe we should change the name to something like 'Get Back on Topic' Award.

Video Game PWNer Award yeah, okay, we already have that under a much better name.

Official Forum Ar-tist Award Oh, yeah, there's so much competition. P.S. why is there a hyphen in there?

"Manager at Stucky's"/THE LURKER Award I guess...

Early Bird Gets the Thread Award I don't even know what this means.

Official CGNU Dean of Crazy Go Nut-ness AwardI don't even know what this means

Music Mogul AwardAlready Have this

Movie Mogul AwardSure, albeit with a better name.

Books on the Coffee Table Award I have to assume you mean whoever likes books the most. It works, but I don't know about the name

Most Dedicated Award To doing what?

Dumples' Biggest Fan AwardI guess you mean sports. I guess we could do that.

Forum Helper AwardI don't even know what this means

The Good Eye AwardGood eye for what?

Shiniest Hair Award*...

Almost a Newscaster AwardIt has potential.

Just Lookin' AwardI don't even know what this means.

Super Mods can't change titles.  That's something which can be done rather quickly, so although I said my schedule doesn't allow me to get super active with this, I'd definately have the time to dish out the custom titles.

I really like what Sir Stinks A Lot said here, the more people that get involved with making something like this happen, the more connected everybody can feel, and it can truly be a community wide event.

You seriously need to not be a jerk when responding to people.  Be more polite, or be banned, the choice is yours.

Other people are just lending their ideas and advice for things, and there is nothing wrong with that at all, Poke.  If you have a problem with people trying to help, you can just stay out of this conversation.  Stinkoman knew I have a busy schedule, so he wondered if Super Mods might be able to change titles, in case I didn't have the time.  I mentioned that I think it's awesome to have as many people as possible get involved with the planning and execution of this- it doesn't mean I'm not reading your posts, you twit.

"Thou who shalt killst threads" AwardMaybe we should change the name to something like 'Get Back on Topic' Award.  This one actually implies someone who posts, and that post is generally the last post of the thread before it dies.

Official Forum Ar-tist Award Oh, yeah, there's so much competition. P.S. why is there a hyphen in there?  Ar-tist is a type of pronunciation of "artist" that snoob, rich people use.

"Manager at Stucky's"/THE LURKER Award I guess... Just so you understand, this award implies someone who is on the forum the most.

Early Bird Gets the Thread Award I don't even know what this means. This is for the person who usually posts the first reply to threads.

Official CGNU Dean of Crazy Go Nut-ness AwardI don't even know what this means This goes to the most off-topic and random person.

Most Dedicated Award To doing what? Biggest Homestar fanboy, which is different from normal fanboy.

Forum Helper AwardI don't even know what this means  This is for the person who suggests stuff for the forum a lot.

The Good Eye AwardGood eye for what? This is for the person who makes the most sightings.

Shiniest Hair Award*...

Just Lookin' AwardI don't even know what this means. This for either the person who posts a lot of threads in ATiaB or the person who generally comes to the forum to observe, but rarely posts.
The ones you didn't understand are explained with italics.

"Thou who shalt killst threads" Award Maybe we should change the name to something like 'Get Back on Topic' Award.  This one actually implies someone who posts, and that post is generally the last post of the thread before it dies. I actually like Stinkoman's idea better, because last-post-makers would be pretty hard to nominate. Also, it's kinda boring (no offense). Also the name's no good (again, no offense). Then again, "Get Back On Topic Award" sounds like more of a Razzie (as Anakin put it), and we want to avoid those.

Official Forum Ar-tist Award Oh, yeah, there's so much competition. P.S. why is there a hyphen in there?  Ar-tist is a type of pronunciation of "artist" that snoob, rich people use. Ar-tist would be pronounced exactly the same. Maybe with a longer pause between the syllables. You mean "Ar-tiste"?

"Manager at Stucky's"/THE LURKER Award I guess... Just so you understand, this award implies someone who is on the forum the most. Sounds good, even though we could just look at the forum stats and see who's spending the most time online. Maybe Most Active Member?

Early Bird Gets the Thread Award I don't even know what this means. This is for the person who usually posts the first reply to threads. Sounds good, too, though maybe a bit impractical (I can't really think of anybody who gets the most first posts). I don't quite care for the name, though. Maybe "FIRST POST Award"?

Official CGNU Dean of Crazy Go Nut-ness AwardI don't even know what this means This goes to the most off-topic and random person. Needs a new name, though I can't think of one.

Most Dedicated Award To doing what? Biggest Homestar fanboy, which is different from normal fanboy. Ditto the above

Forum Helper AwardI don't even know what this means  This is for the person who suggests stuff for the forum a lot. Good idea, misleading name.

The Good Eye AwardGood eye for what? This is for the person who makes the most sightings. I like this one, name included.

Shiniest Hair Award*... No.

Just Lookin' AwardI don't even know what this means. This for either the person who posts a lot of threads in ATiaB or the person who generally comes to the forum to observe, but rarely posts. Well, nobody posts in TiaB anymore, and we've got about 4000 lurkers to chose from, so I say nix this one

And, yeah, stinko is right: Not really much competition there.

"Manager at Stucky's"/THE LURKER Award I guess... Just so you understand, this award implies someone who is on the forum the most. Sounds good, even though we could just look at the forum stats and see who's spending the most time online. Maybe Most Active Member? Most Active Member would be great, but we shouldn't look at time spent online from forum stats, but rather who seems to be online all the time.

Yep. Change the name, and sure. Could just be "Most random person" award.

I think there should only be like, 7 or 8 awards total. In my opinion, if there's 15 different categories, the awards themselves lose significance.

I would really like it if some of the names were Homestar references.  "THE LURKER Award" or even the "Manager at Stucky's Award" would still be easy to figure out.  To shorten the randomness one, we could just dub it "CGNU Dean Award."  Also, the video game award could simply be "The 1-Up Award."  It sort of implies video games, and you have to collect 100 coins to get a 1-Up the traditional, Mario way.  It also slightly references Homestar.  "Dumples' Biggest Fan Award" could still be the sports nut award.

I think if we make it the get back on topic award, which is a better, but it would be too mean.

I think he's thinking it'd be said like "Ar-teest." Ar-teest is how I would pronounce it too, but overall I like it.

"Manager at Stucky's"/THE LURKER Award I guess... Just so you understand, this award implies someone who is on the forum the most. Yeah, I like this one too, but in our voting, we shouldn't look at the stats, like Anakin said.

This could be merged with most active forum member, because they seem to be connected. So, for this one, I don't really like it.

Official CGNU Dean of Crazy Go Nut-ness AwardI don't even know what this means This goes to the most off-topic and random person. Needs a new name, though I can't think of one. Yep. Change the name, and sure. Could just be "Most random person" award.
I agree with this one, but still, a better name is needed. Something more creative too.

Most Dedicated Award To doing what? Biggest Homestar fanboy, which is different from normal fanboy. Ditto the above Biggest Homestar fanboy. Done. Not everything needs a fancy name.
I like this, and Anakin's suggested name.

Forum Helper AwardI don't even know what this means  This is for the person who suggests stuff for the forum a lot. Good idea, misleading name. Same problem with first posts award, I really can't think of anyone that suggests a lot.
I think it should be expanded past suggesting for the forum, but who helps people in support and suggests things to other members. If it's done this way, keep it.

The Good Eye AwardGood eye for what? This is for the person who makes the most sightings. I like this one, name included. Eh, wouldn't mind a name change, but I could live.
I don't really like it, but it's plausible.

Shiniest Hair Award*... No. Agreed.
Useless.

How about most active lurkers? Like, people who we now visit and sometimes post, but are still lurkers.

Stuff that looks like this sentence is mine.
