As requested by The Sneak, here comes a new Top 5.
Top 5 Characters for Super Smash Bros. Brawl
Everybody's bound to have their own list, so let's hear them. Let's keep it (semi) reasonable. The character must have appeared on a Nintendo platform before. And don't be all like "But Cloud was in Chain of Memories." Cause that's lame.
Geno Poo Balloon Fighter
5. Bomberman: He's appeared in a game with Wario before, and I think it would be interesting to see this guy show up in Brawl. He'd add a new style that I think would really benefit the game. 4. Poo: This ninja kid from EarthBound would be a good variation on Ness. His moves would have to be expanded/changed, with a possible appearance by the seldom-seen Sword of Kings. 3. Balloon Fighter: He's been overlooked for a couple decades now, but this guy's got some class, I'm telling you. At worst, he'd be better than the Ice Climbers. 2. King Dedede: I don't know how he was cut out of Melee, but Kirby's main nemesis should definitely make it to Brawl. He's got that hammer. And he's also a penguin. Or a frog, depending on what game you're playing. 1. Geno: Call me a desperate SMRPG fanboy, but it would be great to see this character come back again. He seems unlikely, but who knows...stranger things have happened.
There are definitely a lot of other characters out there that are Brawl-worthy. Let's hear them.

Bomberman makes a lot of sense. For a long time, I thought he was a Nintendo character, because he was in a game with Wario.
I would also throw in, of course, Sonic. And, I'd have Megaman, because ultimately I've decided you can do him without him being a Samus clone.

I had to put a lot of thought into this, so here we go:
5. King Dedede: Hadn't really thought about this guy until Depressio mentioned him, but he'd be great. Like Ice Climbers, only one person, and good. 4. Viewtiful Joe: Come on, he could speed up time, or slow it down, and either way, you're getting your face punched in. 3. Megaman: I'm a huge Megaman fan, I'd like to see him make the cut even more than the infamous sonic. 2. Goemon: Hey, I'm just gunna take a few puffs on my pipe here...oh wait it's an extendable weapon hahahaha! *bam* Another idea for him would be to go into that super strength mode, where he deals double damage, but takes double damage as well. Could prove interesting. 1. Luigi: But wait, Teatime, Luigi is already in Smash! He is my favorite character, mainly because of his run-and-slap move, but he needs to be revamped so he isn't mostly just a mario clone. Throw in some moves with the Luigis Mansion vacuum, and he'll suck up the competition (I crack myself up).

Personally though, I'd rather have Megaman X than Megaman. The only Megaman games I've ever played was Megaman X and Megaman 64 (and, we all know what that was like).

Are you talking about from a visual standpoint? Because as far as abilities go, the only difference between megaman and X is Wall Jumping.

I was mainly talking visually, although I wasn't sure on what the difference was abilities wise. Looks like I'd pick X over regular.

In no particular order...
Sonic: 'Nuff said.
Viewtiful Joe: Time abilities make him not even a little like anyone else ever.
Aragorn: Hey! It could happen...Actually, I really have no idea what I'm talking about here. I just think he'd be cool.
Balloon Fighter: I got the minigame on Animal Crossing, and it is amazing. Also, I have a personal connection to him, in that my friend once paid me $20 for getting to level 1 from level 40 (I think) on the Balloon Trip portion of that game. Toad: He could seriously be quite cool. He could be a fairly defensive character with good jumping abilities, be quick, and have an array of items at his disposal.

Unable to make a suitable list of top 5 unless I mentioned all my favourite choices, I will now proceed to say all the honourable mentions. Really fast! somacruzstaffylyndisfelixmegamanxcronodimentiotomnooknightsisaacdjango.
Okay, now that's over with. Onward, ho!
5. Fawful - Anyone who played Superstar Saga know why this guy is on my list. He has the insanity of a manatee, then kicks it up a notch. His moveset is easily laid out by his attacks from the game, which includes many projectitles and the diverse attacks from his headgear. Also, HE HAS FURY. 4. Magus - Okay, if you don't know that I love this game, you haven't read many of my posts. Chrono Trigger is my favourite game of all time, so it makes sense for me to really want one of the characters in the game to appear in Brawl, no matter how low the chances are. I chose Magus over Crono or any other character because he would probably make the best transition. There is enough sword users in the game, and the ability to chop people up with Magus's scythe is just too good to pass up. Add that with his multitude of powerful spells that he can use and he is definately on the list.
3. Ridley - Ok, here ends the characters that I want to see. The rest of the characters here are games that need to be in Brawl. Ridley is the first of these characters. Samus is getting lonely in the smash bros. roster and Ridley is the perfect candidate. The classic enemy in the metroid series would play a lot like Donkey Kong or Bowser: a big brutish character that is more power than movement. While it's plausible that Ridley could be a bowser clone, as he shares the fire breath, claw attacks, and a lot of A moves. But, I would love to see him have his own moveset, complete with heavy emphasis on the tail attacks.
2. Midna - Another character that needs to be in the game. It's not often in a series where a supporting character exclusive to that entry completly overshadows the main character and all the reoccuring characters. But that's exactly what Midna did. She was the most important character in the story and is one of my favourite characters of all time. But just because she stole the Twilight Princess show and she is one of my favourite characters, doesn't mean that she doesn't have the moves to back it up. Alone, she has the use of the fused shadows and her ability to use dark energy and the like. But she could also appear as a wolf link/midna duo, in which link would do all the physical attacks while she concentrated on the throws and specials.
1. Geno - I'm with depressio on this one. Geno is long overdue to appear in any game. He is an awesome character and could really kick some butt. He could be the first character to be nearly all projectile based, what with the rocket arms, gun arms, beams and magical circular blades of death. He would also be a good hand-to-hand fighter, but would more be like an sniper, picking people off from across the arena.
There. That is my poorly written list. Now I'm off to bed.
(note to self: answer last top 5...)

Whatever happened with that information about Ridley, Bowser Jr, and Wind Waker Link being confirmed? Was that disproven, or what?

In honour of a movie I didn't like...
Top 5 Superhero Games
5. Separation Anxiety (SNES) - Yeah, it might be a so-so platformer, but this game let two people team up to play as Spider-Man and Venom, which was apparently the coolest thing ever when I was a kid.
4. Spider-Man 2 (Multiplatform) - While pretty forgetable, this game earns points in my book for being the first game that actually provided realistic, balanced web-slinging. While I wasn't a big fan of the "Spidey-meets-GTA" gameplay, swinging around a massive city is still pretty fun.
3. Incredible Hulk: Ultimate Destruction (Multiplatform) - An improvement over #4 on the list, just because of the amount of ridiculous/hilarious things you can do with the Hulk. Just like S-M2, this game gives you a huge sandbox world to interact with, but this time around, you can make gauntlets out of tanks. Yeah.
2. X-Men (Arcade) - A really awesome 6-player beat-em-up from Konami. This is one of the best side scrollers ever made, as each of the playable character has their own mutant power. Definitely awesome if you have a lot of people playing with you.
1. Marvel vs. Capcom 2 (Arcade/Dreamcast/XBox) - The definitive comic-based fighter, MvC2 boasts a MASSIVE (50+) roster of characters and an accessible (if not broken) fighting system. I don't know about everyone else, but I think Cyclops, Iron Man, and Ryu joining together to do a 70-hit combo is awesome.
If you can't think of superhero games, you can go with Top 5 Licensed Games or whatnot.

Pressio, I agree with you on every single one of those. And, I'd been wondering what the name of that Spider-Man game for the SNES was that had you able to team up with Venom. +1 for answering a mystery I've been wanting solved for a while now. Now, if they can release that and Marvel vs. Capcom on the VC.
I'll do comic book games:
5. Spider-Man 2: For me, this was how Spider-Man should be done. Spidey swinging through NYC stopping crimes that appear at random, as well as taking care of supervillains. While I digged Black Cat's appearance, I was annoyed at how different the story of the game was to the movie. Same basic outline, except Peter never stops being Spidey. Other than that, good game.
4. Ultimate Spider-Man: If Spider-Man 2 showed how to make a good Spider-Man game, Ultimate Spider-Man showed how to make a great one. The graphics were exceptional, exactly like the comics. I loved how gameplay and cutscenes were done in a comic book fashion, with moving panels and such. You could still stop random crimes, but they weren't as frequent as they were in Spider-Man 2, and playing as Venom was sick.
3. Hulk: Ultimate Destruction: Taking the same sort of gameplay that had made Spider-Man 2 a good game and using it for Hulk was great. I loved being able to destroy buildings, hurl things at choppers, and Hulk played a lot like Venom from Ultimate Spider-Man, which is perfect for the character.
2. X-Men Legends II: Sequel to X-Men Legends, this game allowed to you team up with more X-Men and members of the Brotherhood. Joining up to take on Apocalypse was sweet, and again, lots of X-Men.
1. Marvel: Ultimate Alliance: The spiritual successor to X-Men Legends II, this game widened the playable characters to the entire Marvel Universe. Fantastic Four, Spider-Man, and other famous Marvel superheroes can now fight alongside each other, and in any costume you want them too. The Scarlet Spider can team up with the 616 Mr. Fantastic and the movie Wolverine and the Ultimate Human Torch. Fantastic game.
