The 16-0 win was very nice. I really hate saying this, because it is my firm belief that the Yankees are all that is evil in the world, but the loss isn't a death knell for their season. All teams have a bad game here or there throughout the season. Overall, they have been playing very solid ball since July, and will probably continue to through the rest of the season.
Hopefully the win last night was the spark for a Tigers turnaround through the rest of the year.

Yesterday, the Boston Red socks threw a no-hitter against the Orioles. Just thought I'd put that out there. The Sox triumph where the Twins fail!

Playoffs start Wednesday, but the regular season is still not over!
Padres @ Rockies - This one's for all the marbles!
The Rockies are my team to beat this October!

My Tigers made a good run of it this year, but in the end injuries proved to be more than they could overcome. So long as the Yankees or the Indians don't win the World Series, I will be a happy camper.
Look out for the Detroit Tigers in '08!

About a month and a half ago, I was so excited that the Mariners were finally going to oust the Yankees from the playoffs, because I knew my BoSox would never falter in their division By the time all is said and done, the Red Sox will end up beating the Diamondbacks in the World Series after their talented rotation manages to pull it all together in the postseason. YOU PROBABLY HEARD IT HERE FIRST FOLKS

The Cubs always find a way to blow it, and this year will be the same. Ever since that little old lady wasn't allowed to bring in her goat....

I thought that was a Greek man, not woman, and that was the Red Sox curse, not the Cubs. Wasn't the curse put on the Cubs about trading Babe Ruth?

No. The Red Sox traded Babe Ruth in 1918. The Billie Goat Curse is Chicago Cubs.

Looks like you were right about the Greek man, but yeah, the Sox are cursed for the Babe, and the Cubbies are cursed because of the goat. ...I'm ashamed that I was mistaken about the gender of the person who tried to bring the goat in.

Well, depending on where you live, the safe bet is rooting for whoever is your hometown team. But, right now, its the playoffs. If you want to root for anyone on into the World Series, the teams still in the playoffs are Colorado, Philadelphia, Arizona, New York (Yankees), Boston, Los Angeles (Angels), and Cleveland. Congrats on becoming a fan of our nation's pasttime!
