This... this.... this is horrible! A disaster! A tradgedy upon the natural order of things! It is cataclysmic!
There is no mention on this page of Trigun! Shameful, truly truly shameful...
Trigun is not only the best anime (and manga), but the best show I've ever seen. Though it may be short, all the episodes wound an amazing story with lots of light humour, great action, some of the best voice acting/translation I've seen in an North American version of an anime, and an overall wonderful soundtrack. Truly worth watching by anyone, no matter your age or even if you don't like anime.
It is a definite classic.
Trigun>>>>Fooly Cooly(FLCL)> Full Metal Alchemist>>>>>>DBZ>Tenjho Tenge>>>>Disgaea
Fooly Cooly is an anime I was shown quite recently. Basically, its the most insane show I have ever seen, which follows everything from Rock N' Roll, romantic relationships, and giant robot fighting. Awesome. It seamlessly uses many, many,
many art styles throughout the course of the show, ranging from that of Lupin III, to black and white manga to some of the more goofy of anime styles, to something akin to
Waking Life, to, of course, a small clip of perfect South Park replication. It also has a wonderful story that somehow crams a very long, confusing, and overly enjoyable story into six short episodes. That's a little longer than the average movie, so you should definately check it out. Its not like its 300+ episodes like some series

.
Full Metal Alchemist. What do I have to say about it that I haven't said before. First like 40 episodes or so were wonderful, but the movie and the final episodes left such a bad taste in my mouth. Everything built up to the ending, which, unfortunately, was the ultimate low of the series. So many themes, plot devices, and plot twists in the story I found to be completely unnecessary. I could not figure out why the people behind the show went in such an odd direction until I learnt that the entire first season (up until you know who dies) was based off the manga, then the entire second season was up to the people making the show to finish it off. Oh wells. I'd recommend watching it anyways, but with a friendly warning about the ending.
DBZ is good, but it is way too long. And each episode has like 5 minutes of new content that isn't rehashed from another episode. Other than that, its fine. Other than the meh translation. Although, it did give us the Over 9000 joke.
Tenjho Tenge was okay. Too short though and left way too many lose ends (at least, the anime did).
Disgaea was pretty bad, I have to admit. But it gets props for being based on one of my favourite games. *
Other than that, I really haven't watched a lot of anime. Inuyasha was the first anime series I watched regularily, but I quickly got bored of that series. That may be why I can never stand to watch the kind of long and "mainstream" anime shows, like Zatch Bell, One Piece, Bleach, or Naruto. But I digress.
I took a break from anime for a year or so, but after watching Fooly Cooly, I think I may pick up another series. Maybe Cowboy Bebop, as that always seems to be popular.
Or maybe Trinity Blood. As it has, you know, been on my computer for forever.
*Disgaea plug of the week!
