tape-leg. ET. Come on in.

First off, congratulations on making the Final Two. You guys have worked hard to get here. You have triumphed over 10 immunity challenges, 10 tribal councils, and 10 other contestants to get to where you are now. However, at this point, the power now shifts to the seven members of our jury. They are:

Rather on Fire
scoobysnacks
Homestarguy
Mr. Teatime
Lufis
stinkoman k
Goombazoid

Here's how it's going to work:

If you are a member of the jury, you have until tomorrow at 8:00 PM EST to send me a question for the final two. The purpose of these questions is to help you decide which person deserves your vote. Keep in mind that you will ultimately be voting FOR SOMEONE TO WIN, and NOT AGAINST SOMEONE. And please, don't ask something like "Why did you vote me out?" or "What did I do to you?" Your question should be a way for you to judge who you think played the better game.

If you do not want to make a comment, please PM me saying that you have no question for the Final Two. I do not want your votes yet. That will come later.

Now, Final Two. You guys have until 8:00 PM EST to make an opening statement to the jury in the form of a post in this thread. You can use this opportunity to talk about your strategies in the game, what you learned from playing, etc. Once the questions go up at 8:00 though, you will no longer be allowed to post an opening statement, so be sure you have your stuff ready to go before then.

I will see all of you back here at 8:00 PM EST, when I will post the questions from the jury.

Once again, congratulations to you both. This should be an interesting finale to what has been a very well-played game.

Here's my statement to the jury:

In this game I employed a lot more strategy than when I last played in MSX and got 9th place.  From the beginning of the game, I had kind of an informal alliance with stinkoman k whose advice helped me get past the two-tribe stage.  I was a contributor to my tribe, but I may not have survived the first three rounds had I not taken advantage of my friend's advice.  I continued to ride this alliance until the final four.  Just after the merger, I missed a few challenges but managed to not be the one voted out.  Then like a true survivor I won the last three individual immunities in a row.  When I signed up for this game I didn't really care what happened, but once I saw that I had a chance at victory, I decided to put in the effort that got me to the final two.  Two days ago, at the final four tribal council, I was suddenly presented with an opportunity to team up with ET and vote off stinkoman k, who was not expecting that.  Friend though he was and still is, I had to do it further myself in the game.  ET and I also agreed to eliminate goombazoid whosoever should have won immunity, but I still made sure that was me just in case.  For the first time I've played a forum game with real enthusiasm and strategy and because of that, I got farther than I expected to get.  I think I've played the game the way it's meant to be played and for that reason I think I should get your votes.  Thank you.

Hello forum goers, judges, and tape-leg, my worthy adversary.  I would like to take this time to tell you about how I got here.

As this was my first Member Survivor experience, I knew I would have to play as smart as possible.  Luckily, I managed to get two great players (one being a personal friend) on my team, and formed an immediate alliance with them.  From there, we managed to win enough immunities as a team to prevent the breakup of our alliance, and all three of use managed to make it to the joining of the tribes.

From there I think I played the game well.  Our alliance managed to weed out a few of the players, until we reached the final five.  It was obvious then that we were going to have to start branching off, and I knew then that I would be on the raw end of that deal.  Luckily around that time I managed to win an alliance, which kept me safe from that divide.  Then, I knew I was going to have to turn on my alliancer in the Final Four, and stinkoman k had to be the one to go.  He was too much of a threat, and both tape-leg and I knew that.

In the final three I knew I had to stab someone in the back if I wanted into the finals.  Goombazoid had already stabbed me in the back, so I thought it necessary to do the same (I am not saying that in a mean way, I actually became friends with Goomba through this game, so I'm happy with that).  tape-leg was able to win immunity, so Goomba was the one to go.  Which left me in the Final Two.  I think that my strategy panned out very well, or at least well enough to get me where I am now, and so I think I should be the one to get your votes.  Thank you all.

Alright Final Two.

I have received questions from 6/7 jury members, and it's now time to reveal what these contestants have come up with. tape-leg, ET, how you respond to these questions could very well be the determining factor in deciding who walks away winner of this game. Your actions during the game are about to be called into questions.

You both have until 10:05 PM EST to answer the questions below. Also, feel free to add a closing statement at the end of your post.

Jury members: once both players post their answers to these questions, start sending me your PMs. Remember, unlike most tribal councils, you are voting FOR A WINNER, and NOT VOTING SOMEONE OFF. The name that you PM me should be the name of the person you want to win Member Survivor: BHZ Edition.

Now, onto the questions.

----

scoobysnacks:

"If you could change one thing that happened during the game what would it be?"

Homestarguy

"Since both of you had at least some success in this game, you had to have had some sort of "plan of attack". So my question is, since there are so many ways to win Survivor, what tactics did you employ to make sure that you stayed in the game?"

Mr. Teatime

"What do you view as more important in this game, the ability to hold relationships with tribemates and alliances, or the ability to collect immunity and complete challenges?"

Lufis

"If you had had things your way, who would be in the finals with you?"

stinkoman k

"Please describe your luckiest moment and you most skillful moment.

Please discuss what you consider to be your defining moment (which night of play was  most representative of your gameplay)."

goombazoid:

"If you had won the merger/tribe naming immunity, what would you have called the new tribe?"

----

Interesting questions to be sure. ET, tape-leg, it's now time to get to your responses.

I would have liked to have been able to help my tribe more.  I think I missed some challenges and wasn't much of a help in the Videro Games one, being out of my element there.

Homestarguy

"Since both of you had at least some success in this game, you had to have had some sort of "plan of attack". So my question is, since there are so many ways to win Survivor, what tactics did you employ to make sure that you stayed in the game?"

I never came up with some kind of master scheme, I just played by ear and tried to make the smart decisions one by one.  I mostly just stayed neutral throughout the whole game until the very end.  I definitely took advantage of my alliance with stinkoman k which was never actually called an alliance, making it easier to take advantage of.

Mr. Teatime

"What do you view as more important in this game, the ability to hold relationships with tribemates and alliances, or the ability to collect immunity and complete challenges?"

Definitely the ability to collect immunity and complete challenges.  We're not actually on an island depending on each other for food, so winning is pretty much everything.

Lufis

"If you had had things your way, who would be in the finals with you?"

ET

stinkoman k

"Please describe your luckiest moment and you most skillful moment.

My luckiest and most skillful moment were the same event: when ET asked me to team up against you and then Goomba.  I hadn't even thought of doing that, but it got me here.  That's also my defining moment because it was my third immunity in a row and shows that I'd do anything to win.

goombazoid:

"If you had won the merger/tribe naming immunity, what would you have called the new tribe?"

I would have added the online time of the remaining players and named it like the original tribes.

scoobysnacks:

I think that I would change my stabbing Goombazoid in the back.  I had an alliance with him in the beginning, and I knew that I would have to do it some time.  I wish that things could have been done differently, and I am sorry that I couldn't play the game truthfully.

Homestarguy:

I made sure that I had strong alliances from the start.  I also wanted to do well enough to not seem vulnerable, but also not strong enough that I became a threat.  I think that worked out well; I mean, it got me this far.

Mr. Teatime:

Definitely keeping my alliances and my other relationships because without them there's no way I could have made it a far as I did.  It is so easy to get voted out just because their are others in an alliance, and so I feel that a strong aliance is crucial.

Lufis:

I would probably say Goombazoid, not because I am asking for his pity vote, but because he played the game perfectly.  He never really had to back stab, and he played the game well enough to make it to the top three.  That's why I think he deserves a place in the finals beside me.

stinkoman k:

My luckiest moment was definitely getting a lot of strong members on my team.  I managed to snag Mr. Teatime, stinkoman k, Goombazoid, and other strong players which insured a safe game until the merge.  My most skillful was probably winning sole immunity, although I have to say that luck was on my side there as well.  It was the perfect time to win because I was very vulnerable at that time.

My defining moment was probably getting 22 trillion on Monkey Dude.  That insured that I had some place on the team, and that I was a force to be reckoned with.

Goombazoid:

Tribe Reces Pieces, definitely.  It's a clever play on my name, ET, and it's better than naming it only after myself.  Tongue

I really don't have that much more to say.  In reality, I am very lucky to have made it this far.  So, I woud really enjoy winning this competition, and it would be an honor.  Thank you.
