We had to read it for our final in English.
I actually enjoyed it. The characters in it are supposed to represent important people during World War II, but I just liked the story...

I read it for an English class my freshman year of high school. Overall I liked it quite a bit. Being a bit of a history buff, I was able to pick up on the "subtle" undertones fairly easily, which helped me to enjoy the book even more.

I read it my freshman year, as well. A pretty good read, not like the stuff they had us reading in JUNIOR year English... the only really provoking novels in there were A Raisin in the Sun, The Great Gatsby, and Catcher in the Rye.

I'm just a little crazy.

I loved it. I read it for fun cause I couldn't get to the library and wanted a book to read. George Orwell is amazing.
((I sound so much older than I am!!))

Stay smart, vacuum dirt.

My grade six class did a unit on the book, and the entire time no one mentioned the Soviet Russia aspect of it. I found out the analogy years later. It's one of my favourite books, but I like it a lot better when I just pretend it's about animals.

Yes, 8th Grade Social Studies, loathed the class, loved the book. I liked all the metaphors to Russia and just as a story it was good.
