http://www.youtube.com/v/eNm85Vt5qTY.swfThis looks pretty sweet.
When I saw the first suit, I was like "THAT'S Iron Man? That's more like War Machine! Iron Man is slimmer and red and yellow."
Then I saw the real Iron Man suit, and my fears were gone. I don't know too much about the comic book Iron Man, but considering Marvel Studios is doing this themselves, it should stay pretty true to the character.
What's interesting is releasing this movie so soon after the end of the Civil War arc, in which Iron Man was basically a villain trying to get the other superpowered beings to register themselves. This should be good, although, I honestly think I'll be more looking forward to The Dark Knight.

Marvel rarely disappoints when it comes to films based on their comics, which is why I'll definitely see this movie. Also, who better to play the alcoholic hero other than an actor that's had his fair share with drugs?

Fantastic Four: Silver Surfer, Daredevil, Hulk, Fantastic Four (to a lot of people, not necessarily me), Elektra...yeah, right.

Alright, saw it tonight. Obviously, spoilers follow:
Wow. Amazing. Excellent movie. Perfect for the character of Iron Man. Robert Downey Jr. NAILED Tony Stark, to the proverbial "T". I don't think anyone else could have pulled that off. Gwenyth Paltrow really did a great job. I don't really know much about Iron Man, and even less about Pepper Pots, but I enjoyed her character a lot and looked forward to scenes with her.
But, c'mon, SAMUEL L. JACKSON as Nick Fury? Too perfect! He was the spitting image of the Ultimate Nick Fury, which makes sense, considering Ultimate Nick Fury was based on Jackson with his permission.
Seriously, I would consider this to be one of the greatest superhero films, along with Spider-Man 2 and Batman Begins. If Incredible Hulk is anything like Iron Man, then I'd say Marvel has finally perfected the success they got with X-Men and Spider-Man.
Also of note, Downey will cameo in Incredible Hulk as Stark during the credits for Hulk, and the director of Iron Man, who wants to direct an Avengers movie, would love to have Downey play Stark in the Avengers movie.
I have to say, though, that I feel stupid for not picking up the S.H.I.E.L.D. reference until it was revealed at the end. And I know what S.H.I.E.L.D. stands for too. As soon as the agent said "Call us S.H.I.E.L.D." I just facepalmed my forehead in disbelief, completely shocked that I missed that.
So, yeah, seriously, go out and see this. It's awesome.

I hate to sound irrational or overly positive, but seriously... That was one of the best Super Hero movies I've ever seen. Robert Downey Jr. was the perfect actor for the part and he was brilliant. Great action, excellent story, cliff-hanger ending involving Samuel L. Jackson... Wow!

Hmmm.
All I heard were absolutely awed reviews for this movie, that it was phenomenal, superb, a jaw-dropper. And I'm not saying it was bad, but I really can't say I found it any more than "pretty good." The storyline just struck me as far too predictable, and for giant robots beating the crap out of each other, I think Transformers did it far better. I dunno, maybe I was just spoiled by reviews, but I didn't think this movie was anywhere near as good as Batman Begins or the Spider-Man movies.
