Over the summer I played a lot of SWTOR and joined an awesome guild - only to have them all quit SWTOR.  The awesome guild then got me into GuildWars2, and that is pretty much what I did with the rest of my summer.

I also went to Mexico with my girlfriend; worked on my pinball machine, fixed a bunch of stuff around the house, broke a bunch of stuff around the house..  Oh, and completely didn't check the forum and let it stay down for apparently an eternity.  :(

It was only like, I don't know, 17 months? Barely an eternity. Just barely.

Was it really 17 months?  Wow, I think I was working a different job back when this went down!  I am working with the same company, but am now in a Physician Recruitment department.  I support two recruiters, do all the "back work" when a candidate comes in-- arrange for travel and lodging, schedule all the interviews, meals, etc.  Working toward a promotion to a recruiter.

This summer the wife and I visited Toronto for a few days.  Took the train in from Windsor and stayed downtown in the Marriott inside the Rogers Centre.  Had some awesome meals (Barque Smokehouse was the best!) and fell in love with poutine (Smoke's FTW).  Came back to the states and found some places within an hour of home that sell cheese curds, got Goomba to send me some poutine gravy (also found a website where I can buy it in like mini-bulk), and have been occasionally enjoying it ever since.

The poutine gravy is not the hard part to find. It is the fresh cheese curds.

I haven't looked at some of the real eclectic food stores, but thus far have not had luck at finding poutine gravy in my part of Michigan.  Will admit that I have had to freeze my curds-- no way I'll eat a whole pound of them at a time when they're fresh.  I've had my current bag frozen for about a month and a half, and they still squeaked the most recent time I ate some.

I got a job so I can spend all my money on video games actually afford to finish college next year. That tuition bill was kicking my butt.

And that's pretty much it. I've just been working a lot and taking on scary adult responsibilities like paying bills and having a credit card.

I also played a lot of SWTOR. Still playing, though also re-subbed to WoW to check out Pandaria. What server were you on BHZ?

Also worked for the district attorney's office over the summer. Currently between jobs, but I had an interview last week at the superior court one county over, so here's hoping I get it!

Still in college working for that piece of paper. Also still looking for part-time employment, and seeking an NWS internship this summer (hopefully)!

I'm doing grad school in New York, so I'm (for now at least) an ex-pat Canadian living in the US.

You guys really need colour-coordinated money here, for real.

We also need to adopt the chip on our debit/credit cards.  It was such a pain to not have that while in Toronto.  "Oh, you're from America-- I bet you don't have the chip on that card-- sorry, we can't take your debit in that situation."

Really? Where are you going and what's your focus?

I'm going to Pittsburgh Seminary.  I'll be doing the Wesleyan track even though it's technically a Presbyterian seminary.  I'm going in fairly undecided on a primary focus with my eyes and ears open for a good one.

Well, since the forum went down I've:

-Started college and made it a full year with a 4.0+
-Come out of the closet (ladies)
-Started getting some writing published
-Realized that teaching really is what I want to do with my life
-Generally begun feeling good about myself for, like, the first time in my life

Now Sneak, I'm kinda confused. What, if I may ask, do you mean by "come out of the closet" followed by "(ladies)". This "(ladies)" is throwing me off.

Issa joke. Sarcasm. Ladies is something people say all the time to make things sexual, and it's funny because I'm not actually interested in ladies, etc.

I'm gay.

(Because that's the token minority BHZ was missing)

Now we just need somebody in a wheelchair to sit next to you and Sonic on the BHZ calendar cover.

Anyway, I lost about 80 pounds and stopped biting my nails and now I look like a person rather than a gross.

Kinda/sorta, I guess.  Sorry, my humor may not have been appropriate.  The gay guys I'm friends with have been open for a long time and are quite comfortable joking about things.  My remarks here might not have been the most sensitive.  Sorry.

We seriously ALL good. ;D

Potthole, your photography work is REALLY impressive-- coming from the dude that just came out of Photography class. Fantastic framing, expert use of natural lighting and aperture, interesting composition-- and most of all, you seem to truly capture your subjects. I know you'd had this since before we went on forum sabbatical, but wow. I'm so glad I can appreciate it more now... I seriously bought two completely separate Canon film cameras, and they were BOTH broken to the point that every picture I took was completely exposed, so I had to do pretty much the whole year digital. LAWL. It was hilarious... Just wondering-- what camera(s) do you use currently?

And-- Deputy Laser Action & The Sneak, I want to see, respectively, proof of your interview and proof of your written works! If at all possible. Please.

Also, if you guys need somebody in a wheelchair, I could be this abomination of a character from that abomination of a TV show:

:)

And I'd be Asian, which would make it doubly diversifying.

...
But something inside of me would be yearning to be THIS Artie.

As for what I did...
I finished my first year of college, and got into an animation program!

And um, I have a girlfriend! A-an honest-to-goodness girlfriend... who has yet to dump me, and actually wants a future with me, and really supports me. H-hah... i-it's greater and more unbelievable than any dream already. And-- you guys all know how crazy my dreams personally are.

Thanks for the accolades.  I feel that the sports photography is my strongest, but find I like my portraits more and more each time I shoot.

Camera is a Nikon D300S.  I've been shooting with it for about two and a half years.  Really need to get around to upgrading to a full frame body, but have a lot of saving up I need to do still.  Crop body isn't all that bad for sports on a big field, but for portraits and "close" sports like basketball, full frame would be nice.

The photos I shared feature a handful of different lenses.  The football shots were taken with a Nikon 400mm f/2.8.  Basketball were with Sigma 50mm f/1.4.  Baseball photo was Nikon 80-200mm f/2.8.  The portraits, boy... tractor was Nikon 105mm f/2, bridge was that Sigma 50mm, other two were Nikon 24-120mm f/3.5-5.6.  I quit using this lens last fall, was never happy with its performance.
